Question for those in the know: Did the "story" accurately depict the doctrine of the Mormon Church?

I was wondering the same thing. If that truly is the story...wow.

In my religion class in college my teacher even made fun of Mormons! Noe offense intended to Mormons. Whatever makes life meaningful I guess.

Episode 712. There's been like 10 threads about this episode. I'll have to check it out.

i talked with one of my mormon friends about it. he said that joseph smith read from behind a curtain not out of a hat. he said the rich guy did lose the book of leehigh, but he doubted the guys wife actually hid it. other than that he said it sounded pretty much spot on. i didn't tell him about the song. didn't want to get him angry at me.

The best part was the last line. "You've got a lot of growing up to do buddy. Suck my balls." Actually, the kid made a good point, with which I agree: The origins of a religious belief aren't so important as ITS CURRENT MANIFESTATION. In other words, what are its adherents doing to better themselves and society. What's important is "What the church teaches NOW..." Applies to a lot of religions, no? (e.g., ROP?!)

I noticed they were playing the board game "Life". There wasn't anything significant about that, was there? I worked with two Mormon guys. One was a family man, the other was a jack Mormon, but they both LOVED that stupid game.
