Just for comparison, lets say, FN bolt rifles VS Rem 700's, and FN shotguns vs Rem 870's & 11/87's.

FN or Rem?

Just substitute FN for Winchester & you have it. I'll stick with Remington myself. FN Uses Winchester as they own the company.

Over priced Winchester. Buy the Remington.

I prefer their M16 mags. I don't know why? Just do.
I'm fairly familiar with the Mag 58 (M240B) and like it.
Overall great review from me.

FN/Browning are IMHO the best built military/police firearms in the world.  We have to consider they make the GPMG, Minimi, Five-Seven, P90 and the venerable Hi-power.....and let's not forget Ma-Deuce.....

Love the Browning Hi-Power.  Their M16A2s are as good looking as anything Colt put out.  As far as shotguns and bolt guns, Id prefer Remington's products over FN's fancied up Winchesters.  Havent heard anything BAD about those though.
