The kid is into both hobbies and simply started a thread asking if anyone else liked guns over there to find out. Some of the guys flipped out and started basically calling him a terrorist so the webmaster started that thread that I posted above.

Why do people ask questions about drywalling on a gunsite? Because other people know about the topic as well. ARFCOM is a wealth of information. No reason an RC site can't be the same.

He posted in the "lounge" area where any off topic post can be discussed but when some of those guys saw the "gun" thing they flipped and said guns were bad...you know...for the children. [rolleyes] Have you looked at the GD here lately, is it ALL gun related? Not even close.

I want to thank Wolfpack for bringing the slamming that my kid got on RC Jim's Place for mentioning guns to AR15.com's attention. RC Jim's Place is a forum for talking about RC type cars and trucks, and when my kid got bored he decided to ask in the "Lounge" area if anyone was into guns. That is what started it all.

I also want to thank AR15.com and everyone who voted in the poll and posted their opinion regarding the gun-bashing on the RC site. The gun community is a tight one, and its good to know that a guy can get still help from his fellow Patriots when he needs it. Thanks again......

There will be no posts here about guns and that is my final answer.

For the record, it really makes me angry when people create false accounts and ask outsiders to join the forum just to sway a vote - you only ruined it for yourself.

This topic is closed, any more "Gun posts" will be moved and or deleted any more discussion of this matter will get you warned and or banned. There is no need to question my descision - it is FINAL!

I went back to see if anybody replied to my statements, only to find I no longer had permission to view that site.

So I fired off an e-mail to the admin.

"I am sorry to hear your decision was against gun topics.
In addition to recreation shooting, and hunting...I am also an avid RC enthusiast. I have been since I bought my first Losi Jr T in 1990.
I was referred to your site today to help in the vote for off topic subjects that you will no longer allow.
I guess I will not frequent your site...to bad, because as I browsed around, it looked like an interesting site.
You  have made up your mind to not support gun issues, and I have made up my mind to not support your site. Fair trade.

Sincerely,
(Stoney-Point)"

Oh well, typical libs...don't like how the game is turning out...take the ball and go home.

I tried to reply to some of the diatribes that were posted on RC Jim's RC site regarding the gun issue, but I no longer could respond because the topic was removed and my account was locked.

The Administrator stated "For the record, it really makes me angry when people create false accounts and ask outsiders to join the forum just to sway a vote - you only ruined it for yourself."

There's that liberal "knee-jerk" reaction at work. How does he know how many of the new sign-ups are RC enthusiasts? Had he allowed the forum to continue, he would have probably gained more RC members, the gun issue would have been addressed, and more knowledge would have graced the threads of his site. His ignorance has led to supporting closed minds, suppressing free speech, and making the masses follow the doctrine of one man. Socialistic in my opinion.

BTW, my kid (whom this is all about) fired his first rifle at 4 years old, his first handgun at 7, and he received his "own" Colt M4 on his 12th birthday. He is now 15, and he can not only competently and competetively race his Nitro Powered truck, he can also place his rounds where they need to be at 200m using iron sights. I guess liberals don't believe in "multi-tasking" if it involves evil guns.

Well, you've got one thing right, we are a tight knit community!  I hope one thing occurs and that unlike us over in the R/C forum, I hope you stick around this forum and attend a shoot sometime in the future.  R/C cars are fun, but lets face it, guns appreciate, they're more fun and you don't find many gun banning gun owners!

As for the owner of R/C - fuck em.

Here is the e-mail my kid received from the administrator of the RC Jim's site:

"Hello,

There is no need to drag this out any longer. If you wish to retain your membership here in the interest of RC, so be it, if you wish to continue to start controversy, go away. The descision is yours. Same goes for your father. Although I appreciate your input on the metter of guns, it has gotten way out of hand and I stricktly stated that there would be no bashing of other members."

-Jim

"P.S. I dont play with Transformers, I collect them, same as you do guns. I bet some of my "toys" are worth more than your guns. Final say, RCJP was created around my hobbies not yours, you can feel free to open an RC/Gun site if you like, wont hurt my feelings a bit."

If anyone started bashing it was "his" members when they drew first blood. He gets me where he adds the last insult mentioning that he has Transformers that are worth more than my son's guns.

Anyway, thanks again for everyone's help with this. I never intended for it to become a slamfest; I only wanted to help out a good, gun lovin' kid, and perhaps educate the ignorant. Comments by everyone from this site and full-auto.com were direct, balanced, and factual. But then again..... when was the last time liberals respected balance and truth??????

P.S. I hear Transformers make great targets.....

Nothing happened with this post untill some member wrote a moderator expressing some concern that this was not something that belonged on a website that caters to primarily children.  The moderatormoved the topic into the moderators forum where we as mods could decide what to do with it. This brought this post from ABB (Always Be Bashin)aimed at the Moderator that moved the topic (who was doing his Job!)

Origionally posted by Always Be Bashin:
Ummm........Hello?, WHY HAS MY POST BEEN DELETED?

Personally I have nothing against it. But I guess it bothers some people.

Which brought this from ABB

Ok, I see how you guys are saying its a family site. But in a lot of Americans lives, guns are a family activity, such as my family. And what is wrong with 15 year olds discussin guns? Im 15, I love guns, I shoot guns. And your telling me me or my family is wrong for doing that? I DONT THINK SO! Thats why we live in America. Freedom of speech. Im so sick of democratic liberals! And for all of you who say im wrong for making a post about guns, YOU ARE WRONG. Maybe you guys(liberals)who are ruining our country, just need to not make a complaint about every little thing. If you went and made a post about how you hated guns and wanted to see who else hates guns, thats fine by me, thats your choice. I would'nt go complain to the mods, or to Jim because I know your wrong, I would sit back and not sweat it. But then again thats because im a republican, not a friggin liberal. So who ever took my post off, is wrong to. Im just as free to talk about how I jumped my Savage 10 feet then I am to talk about guns. So now im either going to get a warning from some liberal mod or get suspended from the site or......... I hope everyone on this board reads this. You guys are wrong for not letting me talk about guns. End of story...........

This was ABB's next post and is obviously a FLAME post aimed at the mod for doing his job and you can guess our policy toward this type of posts

In spite of this (at this time ABB should have been banned) The site owner decided to put this to a vote for our "members" to decide if we should allow this type of discussion on our board at which time you came to our board and bagan spamming us and accusing us of being "liberals" which I took great offense to since I have not voted for a liberal in my life and have Hollywood Halfwits bookmarked on my computer(great site by the way).  I personally have guns and was raised knowing the proper way to handle one.

If any of you want to come to our board and discuss R/C you are welcome to register with a different name.  You already have a great site here to discuss firearms.

Now if you want to advance your cause for keeping firearms as I do Keep informed on the legislation coming down and let your legislators know where you stand, and vote.

Is this the guy that collects toys?  Transformers and RC cars, eh?  I wonder if he also drives a black van and offers kids candy.

"Hey kid, I'll give you a blow pop if you play with my Optimus Prime."

And as far as your "family site" crap goes, so are we.  In fact, I've seen more kids at the range recently than anywhere else.  Merely discussing on an RC board about guns is "offensive?"  Well, I personally find that policy to be VERY offensive.  It presumes that guns and gun owners are sick demented things which can't play well with others.

"Family site!"  That shit cracks me up!  As if kids can't learn more about guns, rather than see them used inappropriately in movies and on tv.  OH MY GOD, this kid talked about an M4!  BAN THE LITTLE FUCKER!

Your post sounds more like a whiny....whats the appropriate word....bitchfest.  Keep your site, I have no reason to read there anymore.  I don't go where I'm not welcomed.

Although this attempt to expose others to firearms failed I would encourage everyone to post firearms related topics on EVERY board that they belong to. The more exposure to competent, mature and "mainstream" gun owners that other people have the less they will fear guns and the more they will understand that shooting and self-defense is a "Family Activity".

I believe that LiveLarge does have a right to say what can and can't be said on his boards.  He came here to say that he had nothing against firearms, and that we were all more than welcome to talk R/C cars over there if we wanted.  Like he said, we have a great firearms site.  We can talk about R/C cars here, but does that mean we should talk about guns there?  His house, his rules.  Don't like it, don't go.  I've never been into R/C, so I'm content to stay here.

As far as him taking it personal goes there are many topics that could be posted on our site that I would imediately delete and start the process for banning the member that posted it all without taking it personal.  As far as I know TF Master never took any of the origional post personally but you took him doing his job personally.  I am sorry for that.

I think a message board like this one is an awesome place to discuss your interests with other people that have the same interests but how many of you would like a member posting topics on nitting or maybe a great how to section on painting your nails.  I think we can agree that some things are not in any way related  and have no place here.  Now how are R/C cars and firearms related?  I don't know why anyone would take offense to us keeping them seperate.  No one has come out saying how guns should be banned and if there was a post like that on the R/C Jims Place forums I would delete it and if it came down to it and I got in trouble for it (would not happen)I would quit as Moderator and never go back to the site.  This is where I stand on this issue.

I made these two posts in hopes of you better understanding where we are coming from.  If we had been allowed to decide on our own about the post in the Moderators forum and then post our decision in the General forum before things blew up I think that ABB and you all would have understood. Now I can admit that when it comes to this kind of thing I may have a knee jerk reaction but an open attack on any member is wrong and when this happened considering that we were split on the decision and were still mulling it over Jim decided to put it to a vote and include all of our members.  Was he wrong?  Maybe considering the turn it took he was.  We just wanted it to be fair

You obviously haven't spent much time here.  Stranger shit has been discussed here in the general forum.

Thats why they call it the "general" forum, it's just for general stuff.  Then there are specialized forums for specific stuff.  Isn't your "lounge" area meant to be a free flowing general forum where people can discuss other things besides r/c cars????

When has rational conversation ever gone anywhere with someone like Livelarge?  He obviously thinks that guns are an evil topic and he banned them.  Personally, i now think the kid is better off out of that site.  Last think you want him doing is thinking that people like LL and his actions are allowable.

I have nothing really to say or contribute of substance here..becuase I have'nt checked out your site thoroughly. But, kudos to you for showing up and explaining your side. We as gunowners are under constant attack from those who wish to ban guns from the earth. We have a number of gun enthusiast in America and the number is growing. If it looks like we are "flexing" our muscle by going to boards/websites and defending our rights, this is not always the case. The anti-gun attacks are coming from every part of our society...teachers, movies, politicos and liberal idealogues. When a member of this board feels "threatened" or attacked for his stance on gun issues..he has friends..lots of them, who willingly stand with him in his defense.

We have a community of real Americans with real lives and concerns here @ ARFcom. You've just experienced the commradery of this board...there are no agendas here to abuse other boards or people who differ in opinion..only to defend ourselves when we feel an attack by a liberal society.

I am glad you made it clear that you are not, yet another liberal froth piece that wants guns banned and the 2nd ammendment repealed.

I have no idea what an R/C is...but, I would not want to be banished from any activity because I happen to own guns or like to talk about them.

This may be something you want to contemplate if your mods happen to use this as a yardstick.

Just my .03 worth (inflation)

The bashing continues Pretty mature there..

You don't know me so let me introduce myself.

I was born in Idaho Falls Idaho 8th of 9 children. We are a close family and enjoy hunting and fishing.  Some of my fondest memmories were when I woke way before dawn to set up the decoys and get all hunkered down in the pits we dug in a wheat field with my Belgium made Browning auto 5 and the Geese were flying or to get to a good spot to glass for that one big elusive Mule deer.  I moved to Washington after winning a bid on a Government contract to carry U.S. mail.  Met My wife when she was a student at Central University in Ellensburg WA.  We were married in 1997 and my son was born in June of '98.  My daughter came along 2 and 1/2 years later.  My Wife now works a an RN at a local hospital here in Spokane and I have gone back to college.  We were pretty happy where we were but felt that we wanted to do a little to make the world a little better place and are now doing our best as foster parents of two great kids making out family 6.  Feeling a little sadness right now about loosing our youngest foster child next week when she goes back to her Mommy but very happy for the two of them.  Mom has worked so hard.

Now you know me.... Bash away!

LiveLarge I posted the link to your site in hopes to help ABB because it seems he was getting his ass kicked on your site over there, no other reason. I do ask that he not be banned over any of our actions, we just wanted to help him win the poll. I have emailed his dad and told him to post his gun related and whatever else he wants to post threads here. I don't think his account should be locked. Bob

When has rational conversation ever gone anywhere with someone like Livelarge?  He obviously thinks that guns are an evil topic and he banned them.  Personally, i now think the kid is better off out of that site.  Last think you want him doing is thinking that people like LL and his actions are allowable.

Umm... Did you read my post?

I don't think his account has been locked but if it has could someone let me know here and I will see what I can do.  This is not my site I am just a Mod there.

But, he may like that site and have some friends there he doesn't want to lose. I just don't want him to have his account locked if it is. There were some pro-gun guys over there, maybe they will sign up here and post.

Hmmm, the most expensive transformer I have is worth about 2 grand, not because i collect them, but because it was given to me on the downward swing of my enjoying them as a kid, so it is huge, and fully intact without any playdings or anythign on it....

My most expensive rifle I have seen sell for upwards of $30,000 on the net, and probably more now......

Wonder what kind of Transformers he has that are worth Gun money?

I don't think Jim knows how much we spend on our hobby.

Don't hold it against him he is a good guy and puts a lot of time and effort into that site.

I'm going to have to give him a hard time for that one though.

That's all I care about. Feel free to poke around our general discussion here and post if you like, this is a fast moving website with so many different topics on any given night it will make your head spin.

Just wanted to let you all know that I have been in contact with TF Master and he assured me that he took nothing personal until he was personally attacked.

Here is some of what I sent him in a PM.

You kind of have to understand where they are coming from in reguards to their hobby. It seems to gun owners (Me included)that we are constantly under attack from legislaters and Hollywood types. We have had our hobby already limited by pointless legislation that only affects those that obey the laws and has no impact on the lawless trouble makers. It has come to the point where we feel the need to fight back every time we feel we are being atacked (Real or perceived attack) This is a decent hobby for those that choose to persue it but I don't feel that it should shoved down anyones throat any more than I think it should be taken from those of us that enjoy it. This was a small deal that just got taken to extremes and I hope that my posting there has not made it any worse. I just think that for the most part they are decent people even if a little fanatical at times.

Now he understands a little how we feel maybe we can all just agree to disagree and call it good...Water under tha bridge....Spilt milk...

Every one has a right to their opinion.  That is what makes this country great.  If someone does not agree with us can we live with it?  He did not attack anyone but was attacked.  Now by moving that post some perceived it as an attack but it was not meant that way. 1/2 of getting along is all in how you choose to perceive what is said or posted.  It is easier to know a threat when you are there face to face but easy to misunderstand intent in a post. I do intend to stick around and hope to be accepted but if i am going to have to put up with attacks on people that I know and like in spite of our differences I won't be here long.

Hope this works.

LL, please don't feel threatened that we are a little touchy. as has been said before, we are CONSTANTLY under attack by those who would disarm us, so we tend to be very defencive.

lately the trend has leaned more tword offenciveness. its a natural cycle. when we precive an attack on one of our own, we strike first, and often quite hard. do we get a little overzelouse? occasionally, yes...

it's nothing personal, just the nature of the beast in a blind rage to defend itsself.. we've been fighting too long to lighten up now.. i am personally sorry if i offended anyone.

please understand that we precive that we are in a war for our way of life, and as in every war there tend to be innocent bystanders involved.. mostly on our side (read WACO, RUBY RIDGE, etc.. but thats another thread..)

We were all past this, did you read what was going on here?  Hope you didn't mess it all up.  Do you know what a Jerk you made yourself look like?  Here is his entire post for you all to see

You guys are all a bunch of liberal pussies who feel that people should have no rights to keep and bear arms. The founding father's obviously thought that it was important because they put it before the right to be protected from inappropriate searches and seizures. I can't believe that you guys would totally deny the freedoms of others just because you don't agree with one of the amendments. You socialistic assholes make me feel terrible for the future of the United States of America. May God have mercy on your souls. I'm sorry if I offended you with my God comment, but I also have the right to praise my own god, sorry for practicing my rights.
