The mental gymnastics in this episode were breathtaking. Even by their standards.
Concrete? The Romans had that! But rubber was invented in the 19th century. So, uhhhh....maybe someone in 1850 installed rubber pipes into this ancient Roman concrete wall....for, uhhhh....some reason. (everyone nods in approval and says yep) And I like how they're pulling out tiny shreds of parchment. From Shakespeare's original manuscripts, of course! Which are obviously now completely destroyed by water and drilling. |

I've watched every episode.since season one. The last few have been disappointing in that they seem to be mostly filler to make the higher episode count this season. I thought we'd see something about the iron spike Gary Drayton found on the slipway. I think it's an augur bit for drilling holes.
They haven't shown any carbon dating results yet this season from any of the wood from H-8 or Smith's Cove. The pipes might be rubber, but they didn't say for sure what they were. It's curious because 300 years ago without modern technology, it would be difficult to build the kind of structures they are finding below low tide level. |

Why would you hide Shakespeare's manuscripts ? View Quote I have no idea what’s down there but someone went to an awful lot of trouble to put it there. Poor black guy doesn’t end up rich selling cabbage. |

Seems like we all agree whatever was buried deep has been completely compromised and destroyed by searchers and if there is a "Chappell Vault" is now the Chappell Sieve with all the holes drilled through it. If there was manuscripts or ancient texts they are gone now from all the sea water flooding. |

Once more Tuesday rolls around
The red parchment seems interesting. I wonder what it could be. |

Another Tuesday!
I wonder what that red parchment will be. ETA strange double tap |

Let's get some eyes and boots on the ground and find the one thing!
Or at least a nail, or a button, or something. |

I have not been following the thread of the show, but I will hazard a guess; They still haven’t found it.

Just stop with the gd theories. Just dig the entire f***ing island.

Poor black guy doesn’t end up rich selling cabbage. I remember when I heard them mention this in passing, my old lady and I just looked at each other and started laughing. So a freed slave shows up with barely the clothes on his back, buys a lot and becomes a cabbage farmer, and then dies as one of the most wealthy men in the area? How is this little nugget of information just mentioned in passing? It would seem to me that it's a fairly important part of the story..... |

I hope they do some digging this episode. From the tv preview, it seems this episode is about the island's "curse"

Thanks guys, you save me time and aggrivation. BTW, I know they're never gonna find anything of any real value.

My wife and I sat in the living room, working on our laptops, while I had it on as background noise. After about 10 minutes, she looks at me and says, "Wow, this show sucks."

It's now turned into Ghost Stories? wtf is going on. Jesus Christ I am so disappointed in myself for watching this fucking piece of shit waste of time show. The History channel and the Leguna's can rape themselves in Smith's cave and I hope they die a slow bloody AIDS filled painful fucking death for wasting my time.
See you next week. |

They have a much higher episode count this year so they are running a lot of "filler". Here's the thing, Gary Drayton found an iron rod in the slipway 2 weeks ago. 3 weeks ago they uncovered all those structures in the cove. They also pulled up parchment from H8. What I am interested in learning is the carbon dating results from the wood in the cove and the parchment from H8.

Thanks for the heads up.
Watched about 5 minutes of the show then deleted it. I bet this last show lost a few watchers. Between this and the Digging Deeper show and that annoying host guy, I wonder if other viewers like myself are getting fed up and deciding to stop watching and just wait until there is an official announcement that something was found. After all, if anything significant was actually found it would be on the news weeks before it was aired. |
|
If they wanted to do a Ghost Story episode they should have tried contacting all of the former guests on this show who have died while they've been busy milking this crap for all its worth.

What I want to know is, what happened on the island prior to the so-called "money pit" discovery, was there ever actually a money pit on the island, and if so, who dug it and why? I think it might be possible to answer some or all of these questions without finding a pile of gold and jewels. But they will need to get any deep flooding (whether through natural or man-made sources) under control first. |

This week's preview looks like it'll be like watching your mechanic work on your car for an hour.
But at the end, you don't get your car back. Or your hour. |

That shaft is done with the sinkhole forming. No more digging.
