Edited to add on 12/8/3-I got a few e-mails while the site was down about problems with people not being able to contact their partner, some of which I could not help with so I am bumping this so anyone who needs to can find it. Thanks.
Edited to add on 11/25/3-Folks once you get your partner's name you should e-mail him/her/it and arrange the swap between yourselves. You can contact your partner by e-mail or instant message by clicking on the appropriate button in their post on this thread. I do not have people's e-mail addresses to provide you. I would strongly suggest giving the other guy some hint as to what you might like as in "I have an armalite AR10 and a 1911" or "I sure wouldn't mind getting some top shelf hooch to get blasted on" (note second example does not apply to certain underage people and a few adults here also, lol) Please let me know if there are any other questions.--Aimless Guys (and ladies, of course!) I plan on doing the name exchange Monday morning so PLEASE post to this thread that you are in before then. I certainly do not want anyone who is interested left out. Thanks to those of you agreeing to participate!  Time for another fun filled Christmas/Hannukah, Winter solstice exchange.  This year we are going to restrict it to team members. I know last year we did a "we know you, it's cool" thing but that did take extra time and is somewhat unfair (i.e. if basically if I knew who you were, you were in which is a pretty poor way of doing things). Anyway that's ruling from on high. So if you are interested you MUST POST TO THIS THREAD. I know there was another thread, but if you are in, you must post here. Rules 1-Price-item should be approximately $ 25 in value. If you want to go higher, thats' fine but discuss it with your partner and don't push them into it. 2-Item must be mailed no later than December 15 3-Don't screw your partner. We have had that happen and it's a really bad thing to do It can really sour someone on this site. Anyone who does this, I swear to you I will find your high school yearbook picture and personally deliver it to Ilikelegs!  Dont' feel pressured to join in, I know we have been hit pretty bad by the downturn in the economy, a lot of guys are out of work. No one will think less of anyone for not participating. I will add more to this tonight, but please feel free to post if you are in. Thanks!  edited to fix Santy Clause! Apparently our ARFCOM one is broke..so I borrowed this one! |

more info-basically you get paired with someone else, basically randomly (I did not do the pairing up part last year- I may get a little elf to help out this year also) you and your partner exchange mailing address and you each buy the other guy something that costs about $ 25. It's up to you what you get the other guy. I get the other guy gun stuff, a knife etc., I have heard rumors that some exchanges involve certain liquid holiday spirits though.
If you want to spend more, like I said you should tip the other guy off to that and no one should be embarrassed to say no. Remember your partner could be laid off, in the military and have a family that needs presents, or just be a young guy in college or whatever. Let me know if anyone else has any questions! Oh it's also not a bad idea to switch info on stuff you are interested or some of the guns you have, in case you want to get the other magazines, or a sling or something along those lines. |
