The Dark Knight
The Winter Soldier The Watchmen For live action at least. The actual best Superhero movie? The Incredibles. Everything the Fantastic Four should have been in any iteration. |

I recently rewatched it too. Damn good. No mention of this one? It's in my top 5: http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTuuXSYjDX-aEB2OQgSifaDL0oRqscL6e44hIf0GSccPniOxFZS (I know he's not a super hero, but it's a comic so wahteva) View Quote |

With Spider-Man 2(TM one) not far behind. The music, the visuals, the story, the acting, all amazing. Rorschach is the best hero. The ultimate cut is on Amazon prime. Go watch it. View Quote |

So, where was I wrong? Are the characters and main plot not somehow plagiarized from Charlton and the Outer Limits? Or are you simply a fan of the music video director that brought us great classics like Sucker Punch and Batman vs Superman?

Quoted: I thought they were "anti-heroes," like Yojimbo, Dirty Harry & "The Man with No Name" in the Clint Eastwood moviesin for themselves. View Quote |

[Adjusts monocle]
Watchmen isn't a superhero movie - it's the deconstruction of a superhero movie. Look at Rorschach - many people's favorite character in the comics / movie. He's supposed to be an extreme example of someone's like Batman's psyche - a character that will always do the "right thing" no matter what the consequences. No compromises - ever. I think you're supposed to look at his character and realize that the end result of such a moral code is a raving fucking psychopath who couldn't function in society at all- but I think many people miss that... Probably because Moore wrote him with too many cool lines - "I'm not locked in here with you..." My $0.02. |

The way Haley moved, looked, fought. Hell that scene where he’s eating the cold beans with his mask half up was identical to the GN drawing In fact most of the casting was good. The director did an amazing job of bring the GN to the screen. Yeah, him and the comedian both had great lines. |

I didn't realize Watchman is on Amazon Prime. I have not watched it in years. Watching again I am even more convinced it's an annoying dystopian movie based on a comic by an annoying antifa anarchist. Hero is a rapist, hero dies with cape caught in door, hero ends up in mental institute, heroine is a bitter old drunk who looks fondly on her rapist, hero gives his loved one's cancer with his super power, hero didn't know his parents, hero fights crime because his mom was a whore, etc
It's a great movie but still a very left and kind of anti American movie |

We don't consider every new one a rip off of the last one. |

At the end of the day, nobody is really going to get too bent out of shape by somebody busting up and killing criminals. |

It's been a while since I saw the movie or read the book, but what's the point of Dr. Manhattan? He basically had near god-like power, so why was he taking order from anybody, much less US government. He certainly wouldn't need Ozymandias' cockamamie scheme to achieve world peace if he so desired. How was he even part of this glorified Village People, anyway?
Or did Alan Moore just feel like mixing in a large blue penis? Like I said, it's been a while. I've probably forgotten a lot of details. |

Watched it for the first time last night. I liked it. Of the "heros", the smartest justified mass murder in the name of humanity, the most powerful was almost completely disconnected from the reality around him. The females were, well, lets say a bit promiscuous. The timid hid behind tech (redeemed himself at the end). But the true hero, the one who stood behind his beliefs. All he had to do was deny them once and he would live, was the "psychopath".
There was a very poignant lesson on morality here. But then again it was just a movie... |

These are seriously flawed individuals. I'm not getting the anti American angle. "Edward Blake, The Comedian, born 1918, buried in the rain. Murdered. Is that what happens to us? No time for friends? Only our enemies leave roses. Violent lives ending violently. Blake understood. Humans are savage in nature. No matter how much you try to dress it up, to disguise it. Blake saw society's true face. Chose to be a parody of it, a joke. I heard a joke once. Man goes to doctor, says he's depressed. Life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world. Doctor says "Treatment is simple. The great clown, Pagliacci, is in town. Go see him. That should pick you up". Man bursts into tears. "But doctor", he says, "I am Pagliacci." Good joke. Everybody laughs. Roll on snare drum. Curtains." |

Gotta say the Punisher with Thomas Jane is very high up there.
And I am very curious to see the up and coming Venom |
