Too rubbery, and not that much flavor.

Okay with a squeeze of lemon juice and a dab of wasabi, with a quick dunk into soy sauce, but you will chew for a while.

The baby ones are good tempurad, but I don't think Ive ever had the baby ones raw.

Should have shot him. Yet I live in Texas and I shoot first. Hell my Step-dad calls first before he comes over cause he knows I am always armed. Now if I can get him to quit ringing the doorbell before he opens the screen door I am good. Door bell always puts me on point. Yet he always calls first so I don't shoot him and calls when he is in front of my house. Yet that fucking door bell.

That's the real reason this is bullshit. Any life of alien origin will have differences in genetic chemistry and structure. This doesn't even mention the differences in genetic code for basic cellular function that would result from a different origin of life even with the same chemistry/structure.

An animal with alien genetics would be obvious.
Besides, even with odd genetics, one would have no proof of extraterrestrial origins—just proof of odd genetics
True, but common genetics to all other life on Earth does prove indigenous origin.

Find an animal with completely different genetic chemistry and structure and then we can have a serious discussion about potential exotic origin.

Yeah Aliens..sure thing then.

That's certainly a much more plausible theory than that the fossil record is incomplete.

Considering the only American listed as an author was a physicist, I'd hazard to guess none.

I've been on large group publications before, and I can say, we weren't funded for our participation in them. It was a side project to boost our publication numbers.

Well, I don't know what the fossil record is like down there in the Ol' Dominion, but around here,  you can't dig more than a couple of feet down without uncovering some sort of cephalopodian space hardware.

I used to live in a studio apartment with an octopus.

Every morning it would climb halfway out of the tank and squirt water on my face across the room to wake me up.

It would wave hello and good bye, as I came and went.

It would always be out chilling in its favorite spot unless there was someone over it didn't know.

They are short lived but pretty neat creatures.

Five to seven years I think is their average lifespan. They learn but have no way of passing that knowledge to others.

There was a study on a generation of them that learned to open jars, bottles, etc. They all did it by trial and error since they had no way of teaching each other. But they all eventually figured it out. Damn interesting little fucks.

Also damn tasty too.

I'm as far from an activist as you can get, but is their any benefit to not killing it first?

When hunting you want a clean kill.  To me an animal that has panicked doesn't taste as good.
