[blue]Now available, for those of you in CA, DPMS has created the lower just for you.  It is a single shot lower.  Now you can have the evil bayonet lug, flash hider, or whatever else you want to put on it![/blue]

Now, if you want a dedicated lower for that single shot .50 Cal. upper you've been wanting, then this is a great idea!

DPMS also has a pump AR-15 available-not sure how this works in PRK though.

Yeah, I saw the pump-action AR-15 at the Shot Show in New Orleans.  You can put a collapsible stock, bayonet lug, etc. on it becuase it is not semi-auto and thus not an assault weapon.

You probably still can't have it Kalifornia either though.

Well it takes all of the fun right out of shooting the AR,  I have also seen the pump AR.  It is very interesting.[grenade]

That lower is perfect for mounting a 37mm "flare launcher".

Oh shit! I think were next! If it comes to that I'll mount a .50bmg on it, that will make them happy.

Doesnt someone make an Ar15 receiver with a built-in, non-removeable 10 round magazine?

These laws are ridiculous! Like a bayonet is  dangerous on a semi-auto but isn't on a single shot. Watch out for those drive-by bayonetings!

I was wondering the exact same thing.  Fortunately I don't have to worry about that crap in VA.  It seems that a base plate could be attached to the bottom of the mag well on the lower, with a spring and follower inside. Of course it is ridiculous that people even have to think of this stuff.

An ar with nondetachable magazine would still be illegal if it has the ar sytem. I don't know if this means a modified ar180,m96 or single shot ar's would be illegal but any ar or ak type is illegal. Their website is down so I don't know what they mean exactly by ar or ak type weapons.

Teppe-
Your mostly right.  The law specifically covers ONLY semi-automatics.  The above is not semi-auto, and would not be under the jurisdiction of the Roberti-Roos Act, or subsequent rulings.

Now, if it had a non-detachable 10 round mag, then it would be covered.

[b]Spending money on a single shot AR is about like having to have a .22 conversion kit for a Barrett M82.[/b]

Stormbringer. . . . YOU WIN THE PRIZE FOR THE BEST USAGE OF SUCH A LOWER.  This lower would be an excellent choice for a dedicated SHRIKE upper.
