Sure hope he didn't deface the serial number in the process of destroying that firearm
 . There is an ATF proscribed procedure for de-milling a firearm and he may have violated federal law if he defaced the serial number and not properly destroyed that lower per the regulations. if he wanted to be an attention whore, why not just turn it in to the PD and let them have a press conference as they ship if off for destruction?

I live in Phoenix and the poll was not showing. I proxied in from New York and got the poll. No 77% Yes 23%
Doing this says "I am an as intellectual as a grape" more succinctly than wearing a sign that says "I am an as intellectual as a grape."

It goes to show, some of the people who have never owned certain guns, or any at all, and buy them because of panics, aren't necessarily meant to be gun owners. With a firearms purchase comes responsibilities. His head is in the wrong place. If he owns any handguns, I hope he chops those up too, because when a gun is used in a suicide or crime, they are the overwhelming, (not even close), choice for people over long guns.
