I wonder how long it is before they change their tune. Even if they do, I'll never spend a dime there. Makes me glad when I bought my Vortex Viper, DSG Arms had it in stock for much cheaper.

The lady that answered said she wasn't sure why they were restricted and that it "wasn't in her depts area", but she thought it might have been because they're in Illinois

They recently started to sell uppers for ARs. I never knew they even sold mags. I think it’s funny tho that they still sell the binary triggers. (Last time I checked)
Their rule is kinda retarded. |
Well i guess I'm gonna have to delete them from my bookmarks, i was just going to buy an inforce infared light from them as well, guess ill find someone else to buy it from.

Who in the fuck buys mags from Optics Planet anyway? Fuck them.

Okie dokie then. I hope the last few months of their now-failing business are as stressful and fruitless as possible.
That's weird, I didn't think they ever sold anything other than 10 rounders, I've looked before.

I just looked at 17 round Glock mags and there's a legal notice that the customer is responsible for being aware of Federal, State and Local laws prior to purchase.
I'm not seeing anywhere saying I can't purchase it... It sounds like they are covering their asses legally if some asshole buys a product from them and goes postal with it. "By proceeding with a transaction to purchase any restricted item, the Customer certifies that (i) the Customer has reviewed all United States federal, state, and/or local laws and regulations related to the use, possession, purchase and/or ownership of the restricted item(s); (ii) the Customer is legally permitted to use, possess, purchase and/or own the restricted item(s); (iii) the Customer does not intend to transfer the item(s) contrary to United States federal, state, and/or local laws and regulations; (iv) the item(s) will be used for lawful purposes only, and the Customer is not associated with any criminal group or criminal enterprise; (v) the Customer is at least 18 years of age, or of the appropriate legal age for an item according to applicable federal, state, and/or local laws and regulations; (vi) the Customer is under no legal disability that would prevent the Customer from using, possessing, purchasing, owning, and/or transferring the item(s); and (viii) the Customer has read and understands the Export Policy; and (ix) if applicable, Customer understands and agrees to restrictions on the return of certain regulated products." ETA - I found this on the 15 round magazine page. "This item is available for sale to Military and Law Enforcement Agencies or Individuals, Private Security Guards, Correctional Facility Personnel, Peace Officers, and other qualified personnel. Documentation required may include an official government or employer issued identification and additional certification forms. Certain federal, state, and/or local laws and regulations may apply." |

I didn’t know they sold mags. Fuck them anyway. Primary Arms is local for me and they usually have what I’m looking for.

Wow, I've bought quite a bit from them.
Fuck them. Not another dime. |

My message to them:
> In light of your recent decision to discontinue the sale of legal standard-capacity magazines to the general public, I can no longer in good conscience shop your site nor can I recommend that others do so. While I completely respect your right to run your business as you see fit, this policy is simply unacceptable. > I am not alone in this. Please see this thread, where at the time of this writing just over 3,000 firearms enthusiasts have become aware of this policy and over 100 have voiced agreement with my position: https://www.ar15.com/forums/General/Optics-Planet-No-more-sales-of-standard-capacity-magazines-to-general-public/5-2082619/ |

This is the first I've seen pulling this crap. Perhaps marketing is swinging into high gear to cause a mini-panic. I'd say they'd no longer get my business but they'd have to had it first.
I've never liked Optics Planet, they're always my last choice. Fuck 'em.
Did they sell 30 rounders before? I was able too add a Glock 15 rd mag to the shopping cart without issue.
Wow.
You know, I often defend companies which aren't strictly pro-2A, like Starbucks, because they still offer a good product and haven't really done anything to hurt me or my rights. A CEO using his paycheck to donate to progressives is his right, and I'm not going to punish the other hard working people in the company for his ideology. But using the company to make a political point is another story. Optics Planet has been on my shopping list for years, but if this is true and they are using their discretion to create policy, then I'll use my discretion as a consumer and spend all my money elsewhere. What a shame, too. I'm about to drop four grand on a thermal. |

I responded to their latest promo email with a very un-friendly email.

Know your customers 101....Seems they just failed the final. In business, keep your personal opinions to yourself.
