This is just a strange and exceedingly dangerous way to do this. (now, granted, I'm ASSuming the news article is accurate) If you're that concerned with evidence being destroyed upon entry there's an easy fix: make entry when target is not home

Not commenting on this case, I would rather have my door picked than kicked down.
Of course if they knock and have a warrant I am just letting them in.
