Yea, my wife asked me again tonight why the collection keeps growing. I said, remember when I took up re-loading? Yep. Same thing only with Bourbon. And no fear of lead poisoning. I have switched totally to drinking neat at this point. It's amazing how the taste changes. So far tonight I have had OF 1920, Belle Meade and Knob Creek 120. I give the lead slightly to Knob Creek over OF 1920 but it's damn close. The KC has that slight burn at the end which I like. Belle Meade has fallen to third. Tomorrow night I will open the Barrell BATCH 008b and provide my take on it. Keep the recommendations coming and if you are in FLA stay high and dry. View Quote @KTM300XCW |

What is Zello and how does it work? This is the only social media I am on. I refuse to do Facebook and Twitter. View Quote It's just a suggestion, it links people up by converting their phones into 2 way radios. I have been using it since, cause my son was doing high water rescues in Houston. No big deal if you don't wanna mess with it, but arfcommers from all over are talking to each other and providing assistance or just listening in case they can help. This thread is great, thank's for keeping it going. |

As I glance at the bar, I have on the top shelf a bottle of Blantons Original Single Barrel, and on the bottom a bottle of Angels Envy and a bottle of Clyde May. Pardon the craptastic pic. I am sipping on a little Bookers now. I have to say this is VERY good neat. I apparently am easy to please. Maybe I should go back to regular Jim Beam.
I'll catch up with you guys tomorrow and let you know how the Barrell bourbon is. |

The answer is simple. Go on Ebay and buy a Pappy Red bottle.....$75 and up. Fill it with any good bourbon. I like Jefferson's but any good bourbon will work. Never tell anybody and you will actually fool yourself. Every time you pour a sip you'll swear you're drinking the real thing. Helps if you're slightly stupid and/or suffering a bit from dementia.

Didn't open the Barrell tonight. Decided to enjoy some more OF1920. Man this stuff is good.

I am not typically known to be drawn into hype, so will probably not actively seek out some of the rarer ones. If I stumble across them, great. I mean in reality how much better can they be? I have already found a couple that I really like (Knob Creek 120, OF 1920, Bookers, Belle Meade, Bulleit Barrel Strength, etc.) that are readily available that I could stock up on. https://i.imgur.com/FJXlYBG.jpg View Quote |

Anyone know what's up with Weller? I can't find any of the varieties anywhere and haven't seen it on the shelves in a while. I live in NY.
I just finished my last bottle of Special Reserve too. |

Why so little love of Maker's 4/6? It's far and away the better value than Blanton's.

I know there are a lot of Bourbon aficionados on this site. I am looking for the best sipping whiskey under $100 that I am likely to find at my local big chain liquor store or can buy readily online. What say ye? View Quote Trick question. Only correct answer isnt Bourbon, but Lagavulin 16. |

Just picked up a bottle of Willet to try. What is the ARF opinion on this fancy packaged $30 bourbon?
I'd try it but drinking at work is frowned upon. |

With the amount of people saying "Blanton's" in this thread and how elusive it is on the shelves I think I should go back and buy all 10 bottles I saw today.
They actually had a Blanton's display and IIRC it was $64.99. |

i'm new to bourbon.. I started drinking scotch about a year ago and a buddy bought me a bottle of bookers, and I really liked it.
so over the past few months I taken a few hints from conversations here. I like the Blantons but i'm liking the Eagles a bit better. it has a hint of sweetness. So far I've tried booker, blantons, ER, trails end and bulleit. ER is my fav so far |
