A friend attended the machine gun shoot at Southington Offroad Park (SOR) in Garrettsville, Ohio yesterday with some friends of his and ended up taking home an unexpected souvenir. While watching the shoot, he felt a sudden serious pain in his lower leg like someone smashed it with a bat...
It left him in a cast with an avulsion fracture and one hell of a bruise, but at least he got a cool story to tell girls at the bar. UPDATE: Link to the TheFirearmBlog.com article A GoFundMe has been setup and per Striker's approval, I may send the link to any members who either post in the topic or PM me requesting it. I cannot post the link as Kevin has not been a member of ARF for the required minimum of one year. He is self employed as a brand new business owner, so if he is not working, he is not making any money. The injury has him unable to work for the time being, which is going to make it damn difficult to provide for his two year-old child. This is on top of the medical bills that are soon to flood his mail, as he is in-between insurance policies resulting from the recent transition of being an employee receiving coverage to a new, small-business owner. IF YOU'D LIKE TO DONATE TO THE GOFUNDME, PLEASE SHOOT ME A PM OR MAKE A POST IN HERE REQUESTING IT (Other members with the link; please feel free to share it if you see someone request it) - THANK YOU!!! |

Did you do your duty and make fun of him for having cankles now?

That a rubber boot?
Whatever it is, it had to be better than wearing tennis shoes. |
hmm, that almost looks like its from some early AT gun/pak gun
I've caught some splatter from steel targets, but nothing anywhere near that thing.
Holy crap, talk about dodging a bullet (no pun intended) Who says only cats have nine lives |

Holy shit! That had to fucking hurt!
As far as the projectile.."What the fuck is that thing Jay?!? It looks hurt man!" |

Mk19 food maybe? I'd love to be corrected, both for my knowledge and to pass the info along to him. Fuck. If he had been wearing shoes like most do and he might have had a genuinely horrible injury. |

Fuck. That could have killed him if hit in the wrong spot. I bet that hurts.

Definitely the craziest and luckiest story I have seen in a while.
Cool trophy and story for sure |

I dropped a 55 pound dumbell on my right foot last Thursday and I thought it looked really ugly all bruised up and purple as it is.
I no longer think my foot looks ugly. |
Damn, wonder how much that thing weighs?
It looks pretty heavy and painful |
Is it just me, or does it look like they stuck a bandaid over a 40mm bofors wound???
That's not a mk19 round, the rotating band on that looks old school.
Woah, holy fuck! That's no bullet, that's practically an artillery shell. Those muckers probably saved him from becoming an instant amputee. Good gawd!
