army of darkness is a weird movie its funny and got some good gun play but whats up with the cartoon like special effects.

are the older evil dead movies better?

No, the other films are not better (IMHO).

The "effects" are one of the things that make the movie great:
They are so bad, that they rule.

If you judge “better” by budget, then no they are not better. Personally, I feel each evil dead stands on its own as cheesy horror master pieces. I don’t care if Evil dead 2 is half of Evil Dead one remade…

I found the first two so-so. Army of Darkness is one of my all time favorites.

Of course the earlier Evil Dead/Evil Dead 2 movies are worth watching.....they star Bruce Campbell. Hail to the King, baby!

also, evil dead i has got the most disturbing (and possibly only outside of anime) rape by a tree scene.

It's a 12 guage double barrelled Remington, S-mart's top of the line...you can find this in the sporting goods department...that's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan, retails for about $109.95, got a walnut stock, colbalt blue steel, and a hair trigger.

What a great movie. I bought the director's cut edition on DVD and it has a TOTALLY different ending than the TV version.

the movie is one of the greatest ever made, created by a fellow MSU spartan sam raami, on a very low budget hence the cartoonish special effects.
