not UPS Their tracking numbers allways start with 1Z, and only have one letter in them. Fedex and USPS are all numerical. A different shipper maybe?

It's a UPS #, someone dropped a #, and added an "x"...
Link Posted: 6/28/2003 9:07:36 AM EDT
It could possibly be UPS, they start with 1Z, the next 6 places are usually the shippers account#, and can contain more letters, (ours has two of the 6), the last 10 are the specific shipping number. At least thats the way our UPS ground numbers work here, don't know about other places or special types of shipping. Looks like it just got scrambled.

Its not Embry or Airborne, or any for that fact. Check out this website, it has every shipping company (big) in North America, http://shipping.langenberg.com/[:D]
It's a UPS number. If it not an active number it won't show up in the system. All UPS #s start with 1Z, the next six are the shipper #, middle two are the service type, and the last 8 are ID numbers.

It's a UPS next day air package. 1Z, 6 digit shipping number, then the 01 is the NDA code.

It's bad number because it's got too many numbers. It is a UPS 1z number, but it should only have 18 characters instead of 19. What is this number for and where did it come from?
Link Posted: 6/28/2003 11:58:16 AM EDT
Well, for those who think it's ups, their system rejects it, that's why I thought the x was a boo-boo. So were the hell is wolfpack?? Out shooting, while we sit here, and rack our brains??? [;D] WP, just ask the shipper to send you the right tracking ##.......

It's for a Sendra preban I'm buying from John Ross in St. Louis (Yea, the Unintended Consequences John Ross) he sent that number to me Monday and it doesn't work, my FFL hasn't recieved it yet either so I'm hoping it isn't next day air.

He sent you a bad #. Like I said before it has too many characters. Ask him for the number again. I bet it was mis-typed or wrote down wrong or something.

If thats not a red flag, I dont know what is. Check with CC company if charged, Ask the guy whos the shipper, and which service he used. Sure hope it was charged to a CC card that wont force you to pay if its fraud(IE: citibank visa's).

It is not a valid UPS number. It looks to me as though he typed in the number rather than cutting and pasting. Note the small letters and absence of spaces that would have occurred if he cut and paste. I believe there is one too many "0's" and so I ran a few different combinations through UPS tracking to find that all but the following are invalid UPS numbers. 1Z 665 X01 24 2040 201 6 I dropped one of the zeros as I thought that would be the most likely number to repeat accidently. It is a valid UPS number, however the package can't be tracked. Unable to track shipment "1Z 665 X01 24 2040 201 6 Perhaps call UPS directly. Good luck!! TT [wave]

Fraud would not be a concern of mine if I had verified that it is THE John Ross. BTW, anyone hear how he fared with the harrassment he was getting and the agency exploiting of his ex?

I figured it out!!! I read all the above info and compared his # to mine. With a little math and the process of elimination I figured out which # didnt belong. His rifle will be delivered on Monday. Mine was delivered on Friday to Tampa. I will pick it up Tuesday. Weeeeeeeee!!!!!! New gun!!
