Just because a car has a clear carfax doesnt mean that car hasn't been wrecked.

When buying a cars like that, always have a 3rd party (who isn't emotionally involved) check out the car.

Yup, Carfax is ok but not an absolute guarantee.

Not all shops will report stuff.

My friend bought an SS that was carfaxed and it was repainted.  Who else knows what was wrong with it.

YES ON CARFAX --my brother used it on a truck he wanted to buy, turned out it was wrecked, salvaged, taken out of state, brought back and repaired, and put back on the market. he later had the truck taken to a mechanic that showed him all the problems with it.
saved him $4000.

its a good thing that will at least give you true mileage on the car and if its passing the smog test. in my book its CHEAP INSURANCE

not a gaurantee, but a place to start.

hell it didnt get interesting until part 3.

Seems the guy bought a stolen car, which had had a buncha parts from a totalled out car(s) grafted on to make it look like the totaled car not the stolen one.

Didnt find that out until after the police got involved.  Of course the Police impounded the car.
