It really pisses me off that it seems like people just want to bury 911. I cannot take down a picture on my wall of one of the planes just about to hit the second tower. I cannot rid myself of the hate I feel for the cowardly motherfuckers that would kill innocent non-combatants. I cannot believe that we rarely see images of 911 on TV anymore; it's like everyone just wants to sweep it under the rug and be done with it. It's not done. And that is exactly what those fucksticks want; for us to be complacent and back to being regular Americans. We cannot lose sight of the fact that there are people out there who want to ruin us right now and are probably planning to do so right NOW. I guess my point of this rant is to keep vigilant and protect our great country.

Still have the two WTC postcards I didn't get then giveaway on my wall. Haven't forgotten that six of my cousin's worked there. Though they did all survive. (still remembers one cousin feeling the plane hit, ran for it, then had to stop at his office door & go back to answer the phone.)

I was just at Ground Zero recently. It's so sad there; still... Saw a vid of 2 people holding hands and jumping to escape the flames. That one always burns me good. I am still just as angry now as I was then. I want to see Islam wiped away like the slimey turdball of a faith it is, and I want the USA to be the goddamn charmin.

I was watching a movie and saw the Towers. This morning, I thought about what happened and it STILL PISSES ME OFF. I won't forget, and I'm glad someone brought it up today.

Something else I remember is reading about an Arab living in Northern England thinking it was funny that those people were jumping to escape the flames.

I remember the disbelief - when I heard that a plane had crashed into the towers, I had images of the b-17 sticking out of the empire state tower. I remember the shock as the truth dawned on me - when I saw the first photos and saw only a black gash. I remember the first pangs of grief - when the radio announced that the first tower had collapsed, on top of the rescuers streaming into them. I remember the fear - wondering what was next, discussing amongst my friends the chances that they'd follow up with chemical or biological attacks. I walked home that day, fearing that among the busloads of people fleeing would be unwitting carriers of some unknown contagion. I remember bottling that grief - so that the school could operate in some sort of orderly fashion until they made sure every student had someone to return to at the end of the day. I remember finally breaking down in tears at 1 in the morning, glued to the news. But most of all, I remember the rage. The indignance that somebody had dealt a blow to my country. My city. While the reports streamed in over the radio, I took a look at the socialist teacher nearby and repressed the urge to pound him into the dirt, for lack of a better target. Even then I recognized that the appeasement of the left had strengthened the resolve of those terrorists. Had he said a word that day, I would have punched more than just the walls. Thankfully, I was not alone in my rage, as the good folks of this board and this following article showed: http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,174641,00.html Two years later, the rage is muted. Though it still rises at times (such as when our limo happened to drive by ground zero the morning after senior prom - a sobering moment), it has been largely sated by the swift response and leadership of President Bush. But unlike too many of my fellow New Yorkers, the rage is still there. And its demand for retribution and vigilance has not yet been fully satisfied.

What is this 9-11 you guys speak of? If it were truly a big deal, the TV would show stuff about it from time-to-time. This is just fine, as I don't want my kids to grow-up with a hatred for diversity and religions other than Christianity.

I was in shock mostly. The morning that it happened I was in bed sleeping.I had the radio on and all I remember hearing over and over was that "New York is burning". In that semi concious state before you wake up I kept having visions of hades, the entire city in flames. Then I woke up and turned the TV on just in time to watch the second plane slam into the tower live. Very shocking and especially sad when they started collapsing. I had a couplea people calling me believing that it was the beginning of the end of the world. I have no doudt that if it were a domestic whiteboy, christian terrorist we'd be viewing it to no end. Personally I will never forget who they are or where they come from. Rest assured friends,we have a President that will also never forget and never rest until all those bastards are pay'd in full for there murder.

My youngest daughter was born on 9-6-01. She was only home a few days and I was on morning feedings. I was watching her while I fed her that bottle. My neighbor knocks on the door and tells me to put on CNN. The first tower had been struck. When the second tower was struck, I became angry and soon realized that we had been attacked. I woke up the misses and we watched in disbelief at the horror that unfolded. It is permanently etched in my everyday life every time I look at my daughter. Americans, for the most part have a short term memory. I can't go for more than a couple days before I am immediately thrusted into that emotionally depressing moment. My anger for these barbaric bastards has only multiplied over the last 19 months. I feel anything short of their heads on a stick is an unacceptable outcome. My girls will know of this day as they are tied as Americans. My eldest daughter turned 3 on 9-20-01 and I was not there emotionally to help her celebrate this birthday. I could not help myself and I harbor a stinging hate for ALL those scumbags because they cowardly took Americans lives! I hurt in saying this, but they also cast a dark cloud over that birthday party. I could not celebrate because the rage inside me highly diluted my desire to be at the party. I still say a prayer for those sweet souls that were taken from us, every night before I go to bed! GOD BLESS THE USA!

I lost friends, and co workers. i will never forget that day. I was at ground zero for weeks after.... Everytime I see our troops on the ground in Asscrackistan or Iraq, it makes me feel a little better. But we should just turn the whole middle east into a big memorial parking lot. Fuck em all.

What does 9-11 have to do with our continuing fight for racial and gender equality in the workplace, sound environmental policies, universal health care, a public education system which recognizes that minorities have special needs, and unfettered access to free abortions? cynic

I had a friend call and leave a message on the machine. She said "You should turn on the TV, there's lots of terrorist activity taking place on the east coast.” I was lying awake in bed. My GF was sound asleep. I got up turned on the TV and sat there with my mouth hanging open. The first tower had been hit and was burning. I went and got my GF up and a few minutes later the second tower was hit. We sat in near silence for nearly 12 hours watching it all happen. Sick, rage, overwhelming sadness... a thousand different emotions. To those that want to bury this in the past, to "forgive and forget" I have two words... FUCK YOU! A few months later we visited NYC (I had been 5 or 6 times before, it was the GF’s first time) and had such a sick, weird feeling when I saw lower Manhattan for the first time from the Jersey side and the towers weren't there. It left a big, empty hole inside me to see that, as did driving down to Ground Zero. Nope, it may be dulled by time but I for one will NEVER forget what happened, why it happened or who did it. Anyone who does needs to be beaten senseless with a clue-by-four.

I can never forget that. Just waking up, it was about 5:30am my time on the Arctic Ocean. Getting some coffee from the machine, I head the cable news people stammering and saying "Um" a lot. As I poured my coffee, I thought "Ooo! Something interesting is happening. The talking heads aren't reading from their teleprompters." Walked over to the tv in the rec room to see what the news was. Nothing could have prepared me for what happened as I watched it live from 3500 miles away. When the towers started collapsing....omigod.

I can't forget it! It changed my life, I joined the military at age 32 because of it. I was already staunchly conservative, but it made me more vehement and activist. I went through high school and college trying my hardest to eschew my working class upbringing, doing everything I could to become "liberal" and "open minded." 9/11 made me realize that no amount of goodwill, thinking non-judgemental and non-hateful thoughts, and respcting and tolerating other cultures, and believing all of that other feel-good white liberal bullshit was going to stop homicidal religious fanatics from hating America and wanting to kill every last one of us. Fuck them! Every single stinking life, from an amoeba, to the most pious/peace loving human being in the shit-hole middle-east is not worth the life of a single American that was killed on that day. They all bear the guilt...thats how they think of us isn't it...and may God hold them responsible for the blood thats on their hands. I spent a lot of time thinking today about all of the kids spending their second Father's Day without their dads because they were killed on 9/11. I hear that Dusty Drake "One Last Time" song on the radio and I shake with outrage...those bastards! How dare they! No, the wound is still open and festering, its all still there right under the surface for me, I think about it every day. I wish that I could run into Bin Laden on the street, I'd spit some Beechnut in his eyes... etc... To hell with forgive and forget, tolerance, etc... Tolerating that which is out to kill you is insanity. America needs to band together and start thinking in ways that will insure her survival, if we hurt somebody's feelings along the way, TS.

As a regular reader of Robert Brown's Soldier of Fortune magazine, the magazine warned about possible terrorist attacks by Islamic extremist on USA soil. But the mainstream news media pretty much pooh-pooh the idea as a rediculous right-wing extremist conspiracy. Then on Tuesday morning of 9/11/01. I heard that 2 planes hit the WTC and there are 2 other planes that were unaccounted for. I immediately went into disaster mode, filled up the gas tank in the automobile, and went to the bank to get spare cash. I was on my way to the gas station when I heard that the 1st tower had collapsed, and I was on my way home on when the 2nd toward collapsed. Went home and check out my hardware and necessary supplies. I heard on the radio that the FAA had grounded all airline flights USA-wide. Then a plane crashed into the Pentagon.

I feel like crap about it but then again I was there. No amount of counseling will ever help me get over it. I would prefer 1. not to see it in the news 2. not to have the NY Post run an article every other day about it 3. not to have some continuing "contest" to see who can fill in the hole. I want to move on.

I remember the tears, of rage, frustration and absolute despair. More than the people jumping out of the flames, what got me the most was the photos of the children on the airplanes. I found myself crying when I thought about it months after the attacks. It has changed me.

I hope the transfer of our military out of that Saudi shit hole is the prelude to a ass kicking for them. I haven't forgot who and what the hijackers were.

I turned on the TV just after the first plane hit. They thought it was an accident. After a few minutes, I figgered it was an attack. I think I was tuned to fox. There was a guy talking, with WTC in backround, (Or split-screen, I forget), I saw another aircraft enter the picture, and knew I was going to see a bunch of people die... The WTC attack came as no surprise to me at all. I honestly don't know which angers me more. The Terrorists, or those in our own govt. who have taken advantage of the situation to pass laws they otherwise never would have gotten through.. Rik writer said it changed him.. It changed a lot of people, in very profound ways. It changed our Nation. Forever.

My first reaction was probably disbelief, not like denial but in the sense that I saw it but it defied comprehension. Something of this scale was foriegn to our prior experience. As I watched events unfold I understood better than before the vulnerability that comes with a free society. Kind of like choosing between being free or safe, but you can't have both. When one is greater, the other is diminished (My vote remains for Free). Then there was the anger at the cold-blooded murder of so many innocents. The perpetrators were subhuman. They had no honor, no dignity, and were not warriors. They were murderers of women and children. My feelings in backing our subsequent military actions were not so much of revenge, but of doing whatever it takes to root out this evil so our children won't have to deal with it. We have to be in this fight for the long haul. I see a coming war (It's actually here, but what we've seen over the past 10 years are just the opening skirmishes) between Islam and the West. We need to remember 9-11, just as we remembered Pearl Harbor in WWII.
Link Posted: 6/16/2003 7:13:13 AM EDT
9/11 taught me that, once and for all, there are some portions of the human race that cannot be reasoned with, only killed, lest they kill you or your loved ones. this is now, as it has always been, an axiom. a truth. I was, on 9/10, concerned about the plight of the Palestinians. Then I saw them celebrating. They are enemies of the United States as far as I am concerned. They just earned a prison term as Israeli subjects as I see it. I am also dead set on 2 things - the opening of ANWR so we can be rid of policies steered by middle eastern oil and the primitive 11th century religion known as islam, and the development of non-petroleum energy technology, to totally break the back of the middle east. Oil is crack - we gotta at least get a domestic pusher.

I felt like everything that happened before that day was a dream and I was just waking up to reality. I'm still angry as hell and so are our military people. Just about everyone in the armed forces either knew someone who worked in the Pentagon personally or had been there at one time or another.

Naw, your wrong SchH3, "they" buried the scrap and refuse from the Murray building after carting it off from OKC, with 911 they sold it all (every stick of buildings carted away, including the WTC building #7, a 47 story building hit by "absolutely nuthin" that day, yet it too ended up in a pile a rubble, which nobody seems to have noticed, to different countries all overseas) lest someone get curious over and wake up to the fact that WTC 2, fell before WTC 1, which sustained far more damage, than WTC 2, (check out the footage, pilot of plane striking WTC 2, damn near missed it and most of the jet fuel created a huge air-burst of flame, or am I the only one who watched that day?). Check it out, the same company that carted away the Murray building, carted away all of the WTC 1, 2 & 7 building scrap and it was then placed on ships and sent to the 4 corners of our planet, why you ask? Same reason they buried the Murray building, so no-one will ever be able to do any metallurgy tests, should America wake-up one day to the lies being told about OKC and 911. My son was born on 9-11-2001 at 0314 hrs. My wife went to her room and I eventually went home to catch a couple hours of rack time before returning to the hospital. I was awakened by a call from my sister in law. She congratulated us on the boy and then asked if I could believe what was going on. I didn't know what she was talking about. She told me to turn on the TV and waited until I saw. I was livid. Almost panicked. I packed up some stuff including clothes for my wife, daighter, stuff for the boy, a pistol and a pile of ammo, then went to the hospital. I was very worried that a bio attack could follow on and really didn't want my wife and son in the hospital since hospitals would be hit very hard by a bio attack. I got to the hospital worried about security and the gun, but went in with it anyhow. When my parents arrived I found out that the sister of a friend of mine had been on the first plane to go in. My father had gotten her an interview and extra consideration for a job with the company he works for and she had flown out for a retail merchandiser's convention in California. She was a young kid only a bit over a month away from her wedding. I was sitting in her memorial service shaking with rage through most of it. There are certain triggers in my life now that get me really angry. My son is a bundle of pure joy, but if I am in a morose mood and am thinking about 9/11 already, lookinga t him reminds me of that day and I get very sad and angry at the same time. There is a song by Nickle Creek that reminds me of my friend's sister, and there are other songs that tend to make the mental connection for me. 9/11 is just as real to me today as it was 21 months ago.

You know, my normal response to this is to make a tinfoil hat joke, but in your case I'll go a little deeper into what I feel about your 9/11 conspiracy theory -- That's completely whacko. What was the justification? To invade Iraq and take away the Iraqi citizens guns? Or to take away your guns? Or to lead the way for a UN invasion of the US? Anyone who believes there is some evil government conspiracy out there doing things like helping terrorists crash planes into buildings is out of touch with reality. I don't have a DSM-IV handy but I believe borderline personality disorder and paranoid schizophrenia are two things which could explain why "people" have these theories.

I remember that morning very clearly. Back then I was in Bath, ME on an AEGIS Destroyer in the final phase of construction. We were scheuled to leave at the end of the week. As I walked by the torpedo mag, a yardworker told me that a plane crashed into the WTC. I figured it was some lunatic in a small single engined prop plane. I then went to look for a TV and saw what had happened. The shit hit the fan really quick. The yard pulled all their gear off the ship and we were ready to go to sea in a few hours. The safest place for a ship is at sea. After a few meetings, it was decided to stay and finish the last of the work and let the crew get their affairs in order. Then we sailed to San Diego.

I was at work, doing my ordinary everyday routine. Didn't notice much other than the company proxy server died real hard early in the morning. Heard whispers from another cube about a plane hitting the WTC....saying it was something like a 4 seater prop plane. Finally managed to get MSNBC and see a pic of the tower...knew it was no prop plane. We ended up getting the rest from the radio. My family was all out of state, and most of my friends were as well, so I got to spend the brunt of it with coworkers, then home alone glued to CNN. Forget? Hell no.... As for the bullshit....

You mean the same Mark Elsis who wrote 'If this assassination of Bobby Kennedy didn't happen, he would have been the Democratic presidential nominee in 1968. He then would have faced the Republican presidential nominee, Richard Milhouse Nixon, in the November election. Bobby most likely would have won and been the next President of the United States...The United States has never been the same since. The dreams of a better, more democratic life for all Americans was brutally slain over and over and over again. We were then, and we still are living in a fascistic country that is run by an evil military industrial corporate complex that assassinate leaders for not playing ball, their war machine ball. On Monday December 8, 1980 the demonic force struck again, this time assassinating the greatest singer songwriter and the most influential political artist of our time, John Lennon.' I like a good conspiracy theory as much as the next guy, but I doubt this guys had ANY experience with regards to governmental interagency communication, and I doubt this obviously bitter shill still yearning for the halcyon days of blowjobs in the Oral Orifice has ever read, much less understand things like FAA procedural manuals for dealing with hijackings, or understands the intricacies of just how coordination between civil and military authorities with regards to use of airspace and direction of force work....

I was on my way to school. Mom told me about it as I walked out and she asked me what do I think happened? I said.....musta been pilot error. So then I picked up my buddy who rides to school with me and we fliped the radio on. While driving we hear another one hits the second tower! Right then I knew something was obviously very wrong and that it could in no way be just pilot error. After we got to school everyone was praying and being all emotional. Then at school we hear about the pentagon. Then chaos...people suddenly start thinking a small little church full of a homeschool group in HOUSTON TX will surly be the next target of the terrorists! By now people are trying to leave, and others are on the floor crying. I guess its just the way I am, I guess I have a nack for Emgerancy Managment. I go to the principle and we disscuss how to control the situation and all the freaked out parents and kids. The conclusion was easy. We got my dad to bring a tv in so everyone could watch. My dad (ex-usaf) gave everyone a tactical update and informed us that we were not in imeadiate danger so there was no reason to turn our school into choas. I belive only 1 family left the school that day. But they were seriously weird anyway.

I was actually in the Capitol building on 9/10. Turns out that on 9/11 it was considered a possible target and everyone/thing in the area was turned upside down by the Police. On 9/11, I was at my buddies house about 15 minutes from the Pentagon when the SHTF. We were watching it all unfold on TV in udder shock. We heard jets flying over heard constantly that day, which really added to the ominous tone in the area. The whole town was shut down, and even the LED signs leading in the DC said to stay away from the city, and that only authorized personnel should proceed. We realized that watching TV all day wasn't good for our morale, so we decided to go out and get some lunch to take an emotional break from the events. There was NO ONE out. We saw maybe 20 cars on the road, 5 of which were Police cruisers, on the way to the fast food place we went to. These are streets that are normally traffic jammed all day every day, and there was nothing out. It felt like the end of days or something they talk about in Revalation. I remember my buddy and how worried he got over these events, b/c he works for the Secret Service at the White House. The days following, when he returned to work, he said there were things he heard about all of the events that he wished he never heard. I'll never know what they told him, but it doesn't make me feel good knowing that something they told him could have shaken like that.
