She's a female Tonkinese- named after the famous gulf incident/area.  The breed is a cross between Burmese and Siamese with the classic black points, mink coat, and adorable aqua eyes.  Any great ideas would be appreciated.

Post a picture of your pussy!!  [;)]

My fiancee called her two new kittens "Madness" and "Mischief" based on their behavior.  Maybe a name will become obvious on its own after a little time.

I chose Biblican names for my two Maine Coons when I got them 9 years ago.  One is called "Leviathan" and the other "Behemoth" - both have become very large cats.  Go figure.

My current kitten...well, he's a year old...is named Hannibal. It's rather fitting. He's a tabby.

I had a pair of kittens a few years ago hamed Calvin and Hobbes. Calvin was the wilder one. [;)]

[weerdness]Of course, my cats over the years have been named:
Comet (gray SH tabby), Kickstart (orange SH tabby), Rasta *(black LH), Itty Bitty (gray SH), Junior/Bumpus (Tortoise SH), Samhain (black SH), Harvest (orange/white SH)(these last two found 10/30), Smokey (gray SH), Angel (black/white SH...looks like a cow), Sidecar* (oriental ebony), **Harley, **Baxter, **Sydney, **Gnomey, **Gnomis (** all products of Rasta/Sidecar, all oriental ebonies, Sidecar and all kittens but Baxter succumbed to FIV within 6 mo.) , Acorn (AKA Neeto, Chief Squeaking Eagle) (gray point Siamese), Snuggles (tortoise SH), Tribe (calico SH), Shaman (calico LH), LBL (Lil Black Lab, the most dog-like cat I've ever known), Angus (black/white LH), Cuddles (tortoise SH), Samuel J. Clemens (black SH), Saddlebags (Orange SH).[/weerdness]

Wife and I ran a shelter for a few years. Known many wonderful cats, and a few I'd let sgtar15 have for kicks (and whatever).

Luckily the former outweigh the latter.

Good luck with your new friend!

I've a similar situation.  A 3-4 month old female stray(doubt it...she's too clean and friendly.... some fuck dropped her off) showed up here Tuesday, and, of course, I have taken her to teh vet for her shots.  She's a black girl, for sure.  Black EVERYTHING, even black whiskers....

I let the old lady name our last 2 cats...  Sniz and Sissy.  The bride gets a little peeved when I refer to Sissy as "Fondue".

I'm naming our latest.  I'm bouncing between "Fondue" and "DC" (Da Cat).

Sorry Sgtar, cartoons....., no food here...  Move along, please..

Thank you for taking in the unwanted and unloved.  All of our pets have been pound babies or strays.

How's about renaming yours  "Randy Unit"?  Should be good for laughs..

If Sgtar gets hungry enough, would he dine on a randy unit?

Name the cat after your favorite philosper or politican.

For me it would be Stallman or Adams

I've always given my female pets male names and visa versa. Among the many other advantages, this serves to confuse the enemy, as well as providing some level of plausible deniability.

:::sigh::::

I guess you'd have to meet my neighbors to understand.

She did come from the Humane Society, and has the sweetest little temperment.  Currently "Ginger" and "Cinnamon" seem to be the names to beat, although I like "blackfoot", "hairinsoup"[:D], and "Charlie".  Well lets see how well I do with the dreaded red x's.

Might a suggest an exotic name?  We had a Tonk/Burman mix once (since passed away) that we named "B'shad" (pronounced Ba-Shad) - it is Burmese for "Precious" - really cool sounding name, IMHO.

Congrats on the new acquisition - I love cats - got 7 of the little fuzzballs - all rescue cats.
