[ROFL2] I did a paper once on this subject, for a "Police Administration course" the truth was it changes as society does, in the past people became cops for the job security, and to have a feel good job, latter because of the media, it was attracting thrill seekers, ( the Starskey and Hutch + Miami Vice era) I have not studied why the profession attracts certain candidates since that time period. Any thoughts, or opinions.

I thought you had to be born between 21 May and 21 June to be a Leo. Maybe not, because my Dad's name was Leo, and he was born in January. I'm so confused.

Actually the reasons for me were as follows.
1) It was paying more than anything else at the time. 2) It was a fun job that you couldn't get fired from unless you really messed up. 3) It allowed one to have lots of cool toys that civillians could not, and best of all you got paid to play with them. 4) It allowed for a full career and retirement, in time to start another career and make real money and get a pension on top of it. 5) The altruistic coming out here. It allowed you to actually make a difference every day. |
