Ummmm Point Numero Uno thats Porsche Nine Eleven.

And in your picture that 911 has a Turbo front end. I know Porsche is developing a Turbo cab but that doesn't have the Turbo rear fenders so it scan't be that or a C4S so hmmmm...interesting.

Have a nice day. [:D]

Boy, I'd give anything to have one of those! Porsches are schweet!

But, I didn't know they were still making the 911. I thought they stopped making them in something like 1992? Thought the new ones were 993 or 996s?

The 911 remained unchanged until 96 or so. Then they changed it and I love it more now than ever!

I have a crystal 959 that was the first non 911 that I fell in love with![:D]

They still fall under the 911 umbrella, the new numbers just designating differences in body/engine.  The 993s were probably my favorite, though I wouldn't turn down a new turbo.

Wife has a Boxster.  Nice car, handles awesome, very solid, but weak for a 50k car.  Wish she would have gone with the "S".  I recommend you go that way Sharky. German cars are funny in that you can easily tack on 10-20k in just options.  Oh well, that new 911 is pretty good looking.

But it's not a 911. Haven't been any "real" 911s since 1992 when the "993" came out. Current production cars are "996"

But it is a real 911.  That is what Porsche calls them.  And if you are going by that logic there has been no 911 since 1989 when the 964 was introduced.

993 and 996 are internal production numbers so they can signify the differences between models, as the Boxster is the 986.  Look on their own website, they are referred to as the 911: www2.us.porsche.com/english/usa/home.htm

Damn I'm being persnickity tonite. [;)]

There will always be a Porsche 911. When the transverse V-8 911 TT comes out the 996 will be the "last real" 911.

Porsche 911 & Boxer look too alike.
I Don't want my $95,000 car to look like the $50,000 model.

Mercedes-Benz SL-Class SL500, now that's sweet!

I hate to be an asshole about this, but the only reason that Porsche NA still calls the car a "911" is because most of America was too "ignorant*" to learn the new model designation.
