The dog was tall, broad and muscular. Most dobermans I see are not as broad or muscular. He was out jogging along with his owner. I can tell the owner needed no CCW with that thing at his side.

The largest sir I have ever seen was in the 122lb range. He is a red Doby, and the sir to Porsche, my 11mth old female. Black and rust. He looks more like a Dane than a Doberman, size wise. Jason

Dobermans are bred to be a mid sized dog.  They are SUPPOSED to be 65-70 pounds, 26-28 inches at the shoulder for males.  That being said, I think the bigger ones are scarier than the average ones for sure.

I had a male Doberman for 9yr's. His weight was 105 to 110 (as per my vets scale). He was as large as my Rott's just not as wide and beefy.

I heard of a Doberman breeder in southern Ca.
that has regular size and king size Dobermans
like the one you saw, they also use these in
Hollywood for the motion picture industry.
Yes, they do have extra large Dobies for people
that want the big ones, mine died last week, he
was almost 11 years old, but he had a bad heart. He was a large Dobie blk/tan 120 lbs.

The biggest of the dogs mentioned here is about the size of my puppy who just turned one year old. Two dobermans came into my yard a few weeks ago. They were about average Dobermans -- except they ran like greyhounds when they saw my pup.

Here's a picture of my dobie Apollo (black/rust) at 13 weeks (he's now 1yo and 70lbs heavier)...  and yes, the name was inspired by Magnum PI.  My wife can't wait until we have Zeus.
