Shhh… That’s what we’ve been telling these people… they don’t know it’s just DU, MMM’s, VPC, and HCI just having a good laugh at all those who “feel” that they “want” a gun.  So don’t ask too many questions or they might get suspicious.

Not only do I not know how much ammo I have, I am not sure where I have it all stashed.

I have 3,000 rounds of 7.62 x 39.

I'm trying to stock up on .223, but shoot it up as fast as I get it.

Plus I can't find any decent deals on .223 right now.

So how much ammo do you have? Our highest guess is that one of us here has topped the 100,000 round mark, squirreled away around the nation in caches.

Not in caches, just in my large garage.  My last order was for 110 cases of 7.62x51, which arrived last month.  I have placed another order for 125 more cases that should arrive this week sometime.  And that's just my 7.62 stash.  But, this past Sunday I went through 3,000 rds in one afternoon, so it doesn't last all that long.  I also help feed my local AMGA and ARCOM members.

MG, I would say that is alot but if you posess a Class III and all the goodies that go with it, you could burn 100K in a weekend...along with a few barrels.

I definately see a need to stock up, especially when you get a good price on a case, along with the possibility of price increases, tax hikes and whatever else Uncle Sugar throws at us. All I know is that I don't have enough. I got a line on some mil surplus in 2000 crates and I want to grab about 5 of them. That should satisfy my need...for a few minutes.

WOW It almost like you guys are taking this too seriously. Stryker and I, shot about 300 rds each of various calibers. As we were picking up brass we wondered have much ammo is enough or needed. I understand about the good deals that are come across and given ones money situation are big factors in purchases but if I know Im going to shoot alot, I buy a boat load.
As we talked more we wanted to know how much ammo people on the boards had(purely for entertainment). Many people talk about the whole SHTF senario and the need for half a mil. rds to feed the turret mounted GAU-8s on top of there houses, so we ask the question, How much ammo you got.
Right now I only have 200 rds of 308 and 120 of 7.62x39. Whatever, I dont need any more right now as Im in dept up to my ass.
Stryker I want my Trijicon back!

I have several hundred to a few thousand each in my major calibers, .223, 5.45mm and 30-06. I have smaller amounts, maybe a few hundred, in .30 carbine, 7.62 x 39, 12-gauge and major handgun calibers. I don't really worry about handgun ammo much, because I get as much of that in .40 and .45 as I want free from work. My work vehicle is loaded down with work ammo, though.

I was running the armory at work until the start of this month. I am supposed to have a few hundred thousand rounds in that, but the folks keep shooting it up, and it is hard to stay stocked.

Honestly,  I don't know. My name is John and I have a Dillon Progressive addiction.

The more common stuff, such as .308 and .223, I keep in 5 gallon buckets.  Same with the brass for reloading. (I just realized with this thread,  time to order more powder.)

Less common stuff such as .284 Winchester and .38 Super I keep in ammo cans.

I have enough loose .22lr to fill 2 50 cal cans to the top.

Shotgun shells,  back to the aforementioned buckets except for buckshot or slugs.  Ammo can for them.

The LEAST ammo I have at the moment is 3 boxes of 22 mag.

If the shop behind the house ever catches fire, get VERY far away.

The only ammo kept in the house is 60 rounds in  pistol mags and  4 rounds of buckshot in a 20 gauge shotgun.

Not a bad idea.

Too bad I just buy one box to go to the range.  I don't keep any of that dangerous ammo around the house - someone could get hurt.

PS - What do you do with the .666 or .333 of a round?

Lot, I have a question for you. Why are people reluctant to state how much ammo they own? Is it a crime for having 100K of bullets? I really wasn't looking for specific breakdowns, just ballpark figures. Are some afraid that by stating that they have 100K the ATF is going to show up for a raid?

Just curious.
