So, I'm sitting in my dorm room just about an hour ago when I hear a loud shattering glass noise followed by a few screams...  I run down to ground floor to see what's going on, and hear people yelling 'Dial 911!' and some other stuff when I get down there.  Turns out that a whitetail deer came running across our frisbee golf course, ran straight through the large glass lobby window, into the lobby, and out through another plate window in the back of the lobby which overlooks a 15 foot drop onto a concrete pad by a volleyball court.  Some little kids were playing ball on the concrete, but the deer luckily missed them upon landing.  Deer made it about 15 yards after hitting the ground, but then collapsed.  Campus police showed up while it was still kicking, but had to wait until an armed (e.g. city) officer could show up and put the animal down.  By that time it was already dead.

a couple hours ago i went to the beach (lk superior) and this lady comes walking over to me asking if i have a cel phone (i hate those) anyway...she says there is something dead in the water and doesn't know if it's human or animal....and she needed "a man to go check it out for her."  ha...anyway i walk over to it and she's telling me to grab my dog, which i don't do..and my dog goes over to it and licks it..ew.  and i ask her if she poked it with a stick or something and she got grossed out, so i took a stick and lifted it's head out of the water and it was a deer that had died a while back...still had skin.  she was pretty drmamatic about it.."how did it die?"  and i told her it probably fell through the ice or something.  things die in the wild ma'am.  some people need to stay in the city.
