What if I go over to Neveda and buy one. It's 18 over there with no waiting period and background check and then bring it over to Cali. Will that work? It it doesn't can someone tell me how to legally be 18 and own a handgun in CA? Cause California law says 21 to buy but 18 to possess.

If I'm not mistaken you can buy a handgun in another state being a CA resident. CA only prohibits purchasing of long guns out of state. So long as the handgun is on the approved list per SB15.
I could be wrong though. 95% sure. |

Federal law permits non-FFLs to buy handguns ONLY in their state of residence. Long guns can be purchased in any state, so long as the laws of BOTH states are followed (so, PRK residents can't buy AWs in other states).
In the PRK, all handguns are registered with the state at the time of purchase (which must be done via FFL). The purchaser must possess a hunting license, hunter's safety course certificate, DD-214, or pass the Basic Firearms Safety Certificate written test. -Troy |
