I am back at my parents home for the holiday weekend and my father wants my to get rid of a huge woodchuck in the back yard. So how can I get the little thing out of its hole? Keving67

You shouldn't have to force it out, just be patient and watch for it in the morning and evening hours. They rarely come out during the mid-day. This usually what I do on my Grandmothers farm.

Hunting groundhogs is a waiting game. I've always had better luck during the last 2-3 hours of daylight. I like to shoot them at the hole so that they die there. That makes it less likely that another one will move in.

[Carl Spackler] License to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations. Man, free to kill gophers at will. To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint. And a varmint will never quit - ever. They're like the Viet Cong - Varmint Cong. So you have to fall back on superior intelligence and superior firepower. And that's all she wrote. [/Carl Spackler]

I use to do the same as the others did. Just sit and wait for the last few hours of the day.
