Anybody watch the Country Music Awards last night? I missed the show but I saw the highlights on the news.

Toby Keith has an ongoing feud with the Dixie Chicks, namely the one with the big mouth, Natalie. The Chicks weren't at the CMA awards. They were playing live in concert somewhere, with a live camera feed to the awards show. Natalie Maines was wearing a t-shirt with "FUTK" on the front.

I think it's obvious... "Fuck U Toby Keith"

That's lower than whale shit. TK is very popular right now, with his patriotic songs and "whiskey for my men, beer for my horses." The Chicks (namely the one with the big mouth) have badmouthed others in the music industry too, not to mention the President.

I used to like the Chicks. I cheered them on in their lawsuit against Sony. They said they wanted to get back to their roots so to speak, bucking the Nashville pop country trend. Nothing wrong with that. But now I can't stand them. I think the head bitch is just doing this crap to get attention, even if it is negative. They need to STFU!

I think there is a basic axiom in show biz or something smiliar, "any publicity is good, even if its bad." I might add a corollary, "at least in the short term" anyways.

They're playing everyone like a fiddle. The thing about the entertainment industry is that even negative attention is better than no attention at all. People who aren't even fans are now hanging on, waiting to see what they do next.
Honestly, I think it's way past time to either forgive or forget about them. If Maines was trying to make any statement at all, it was probably only to get back in the spotlight.
The best way to hurt them is to turn your attention somewhere else.

And yes, his "Beer for my Horses" song does kick major ass! I bought this CD right when it came out and I'll continue to support him.

I'm not a big country fan either, but Toby Keith is pretty cool. If you want to hear something cool of his, download "Taliban" with Toby Keith or Bob & Tom as artist on WinMX. I'm sure you can get on Kazaa, too. It's Fabrique National funny.

Yeah, Reba took a couple well aimed shots. I got a pretty good laugh out of that.

The best one was when she was introducing Penn and Teller, described Penn as the long haired guy who never shuts up and Teller as the one who never says anything...then said" I wonder who'se teaching the Dixie Chicks now!"

Obviously it was not Teller.

Yah know, if Maines had half a friggin' brain, she would just shut up and let it blow over. Very few people will remember what it was all about in a few years. But no, the idiot has to keep shooting off her enormous mouth.

It's too bad, because they do close harmony real well.

Have they been blacklisted? I had a 4 hour drive yesterday, listening to country music stations the whole time. I do not recall hearing a single DC tune. A few weeks ago, about every 7th or 8th song was one of theirs.

My wife is a big fan of Toby Keith. So I have become a fan of him also. [i]WHIP[/i]
Seriously though I enjoy his music.
He's a great performer who writes his own music.
I've see him perform in concert 3x in the last year.
Not an easy task when you live in NYC.

He's a really big supporter of our troops and Bush.

You know what natalie will look like in 10 years? Yes, EXACTLY like Anna Nicole...they have the same level of education and are both from Texas, something I am NOT proud of.

Put my ex Lisa in the same boat...and it will certainly sink. Fat chicks with big mouths need to STFU!

Now I have nothing against fat chicks because for the most part, they are pleasant to be with but these three need to get a freaking grasp of reality. We don't like them for their brains or lack thereof. We certainly don't like their attitudes. And we definitely do not like the way they look. What do they have going for them?

I was raised on Hard Rock, but some of the country songs have more meaning than rock songs.

Well Big Bear they were playing right here in his home state,not ten miles from his home town of Moore Oklahoma!
I think Toby can hold his own,and my daughters girlfriends mother cleaned house for Doug(garth)Brooks mother in Edmond! They were here at the Ford Center in OKC!
