I found this, it was something my grandpa had, he might have picked it up from Korea or 'Nam, or might've got it out of a dumpster. I really have no clue: Don't make fun of my ruler! Looks like an old-fashioned iron...Give it to the wife, I am sure she knows how to warm it up in the fire...

bayonet holder?

Knife or bayonet scabbard. I'd find a military edged weapons forum and post your question if I were you. BTW, As far as I know there is no requirement to have a measuring device in a thread unless it is a meal photo.

Submarine windsheid wiper.

Oh, I knew it was a frog, I just wondered if anyone knew what knife. I believe it was a double-edged baynoet, since the frog is symmetrical.

I could be wrong, but isn't the frog actually the leather piece that was used to hold the scabbard & attach it to the belt?

Speculum holder.

erm It is not a 'frog'. A 'frog' is what holds the SHEATH or SCABBARD to a belt.

Well, it's the thing that holds the knife or bayonet.
