... Shouldn't be narrow minded guys. It really wasn't bad.

Why put money into the pockets of that whining bitch? I'd rather not. I can't stand his music. It's not that I'm narrow minded. My wife listens to some rap therefor I listen to some rap too. Hell, I like some of it.... But I hate Eminem

Brittney Murphy is so dirty in that movie, but in a good way. "I'd shag her rotten"

Well then, guess I'm gonna have to pick it up sooner.

Not bad. Kim Basinger is TOTALLY miscast as his white-trash mother. MM does a fairly good job being himself. Britney Murphy plays a very convincing skank. The rapping is mostly unintelligible - SURPRISE! [rolleyes] A lot of the dialogue is smothered by the background "music". But still a good movie. I'd give it three stars. The part where they rap to "Sweet Home Alabama" is pretty funny.

Looks like a Tarzan movie with fully clothed savages.

I liked it better when I saw it the first time. It was called "Purple Rain" then.

Slim Shady is a piece of poo! I refuse to watch or listen anything that has anything to do with him.

I liked the way the movie ended, much grounded in reality. I had no problem hearing what was being said and could understand most of the rapping. My stereo has 14 year old Fisher speakers attached to it and I had no problems. It wasn't a great movie and I doubt that I would buy the DVD but I didn't consider it a waste of $3.99.

The movie was made well. I enjoyed it. It was almost too 'Artsi-Fartsie'. Not what you would expect. Anyone who gets into movies should watch it.

I think the movie was decent, but not what many people would expect. Some parts were pretty funny, and Mathers did a much better job of acting than most hip-hop stars do... I think the ending sucked. My .02 Eric

Why did they call it "Eight Mile?" Should have called it "No Stars." [rolleyes]

I'll second that, those are my thoughts exactly. I know I really enjoyed the movie, one of the best movies I've seen in the theater in a LOOOONG time. The ending just left to much to be wanted. Did this movie bring home any Oscars?

Why someone would want to support the further degradation of our society, by watching such gutter filth is completely beyond me. Oh, and I am not interested in seeing it.

Daughter just had to have it. So eventually I watched it. Not a bad movie at all. Not great, but not bad. I would watch it again anytime. And yes, I hate (c)rap (can't really call it) music.

I heard somebody say that love or hate the movie, it pictures Detroit in the worst possible light.

8 mile is a road in a shitty part of Detroit supposedly where MM grew up. What you saw was what it's like. I grew up close to 11 mile. Not quite as shitty. That's how the streets are named. 9 mile, 10 mile, 11 mile... pretty ingenious eh?

8 mile divides Detroit from the rest of the world. Cross over 8 mile and you can tell you in da hood.
