I have to say Jaws because it had the most profound effect on me.

I grew up in California very close to the beach, not only would I not go in the ocean for almost a year after seeing that movie, but I kept a very close eye on the drain in the bathtub while I was taking a shower. I'm serious, I would actually never take my eye off the drain the whole time I was in the shower. I even was a little freaked out about pools.....I did however spend alot of time in pools for a long time after seeing that movie.

I was terrified of being bitten by a shark.

To this day, some 20-25 years later, when I'm in the ocean and step on something "funny" I get the creeps.

I love horror movies , but do not really find them "scary"

Two movies that did freak me out and make me jump in my seat at certain points were

The Shining and

Jacob's Ladder

those were scary , hack and slash just doesn't bother me

Gargoyles!! Man, I was a little kid living in the AZ desert at the time! Whenever my Mom or Dad drove us at night I alway KNEW that a Gargoyle was going to land on the roof of the car!
