I was just asked this on an oral board. I am curious as you what kind of responses I get here. Keep in mind I had about 5 seconds of thought behind my answer. I also posted this because in another thread where my answer was critiqued, it was surmised that the interviewers might have thought it was BS. This based on the assumption that most people have done something illegal in their adult life. BTW, my answer was that I stole a magazine at the age of 12.

Honestly: I assisted in throwing a party for kids to get drunk. Even though I havent ever had any beer myself. [No comment under the 5th ammendment, until September 14, 2004.] Speeding infractions, lying to my parents, stealing from my brother.

Aren't you about to graduate high school? Maybe I am wrong, but I thought that you said that in a recent previous thread. Edited to add: I've done some pretty rotten crap in my days. One in particular-I (and my squad) pissed in the coffee cup of a certain unit-level tool while stationed in the ROK.

I once touched my mom's no-no spot. I was punished immediately, of course. Some big bozo I didn't even know, wearing a mask, held me upside down and swatted my arse. And then, to add insult to injury, everybody in the room started clapping. Life starts out strange, I tell you, and only gets stranger. cynic

1.) killed a frog with my bowie knife for the fun of it. 2.) took some lizards, taped them to the bench outside with their heads lined up and fired one shot from a .22 killing them all at once. 3.) Ran over a possum I saw on the road deliberately. there's more. much more but I don't care to share given some of them are felonies. 5th amendment. sorry.

I once without any regard for public safety, pulled all the "do not remove under penalty of law" stickers off of every pillow in the house, then barricaded myself in my bed room. Later I confessed after some intense interrigation. Lawyer got me off on a technicality though.

I don't know if it was actually criminal, but I had an idiot that lived in the apartment above mine in college that kept asking me if I had any marajuana for sale. Kept telling him NO, and at the end of the year when he was moving out, I filled a bag with Oregeno, and told him it was some really good stuff and sold it to him for a really high price!!!!!!! Never saw him again. Also, when I was 30 years old, and was getting divorced, I propsitioned the 18 year old hottie secretary where I was working at the time. I don't know how bad that really it was? I figured it was really great, 'cause she said YES!!!!!! Anything else, I'll take the 5th on!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me too, The cop asked me why I stole the Prophylactics?? I had no idea what a prophylactic was. When we finally got it straight that prophylactics were rubbers, I told him "so I can have sex with my G/F, why else would I steal rubbers? What a stupid question, I guess he thought 13 year olds were not getting any. I ended up on probation, it sucked.

My Dad grew up in rural WVA. I go back a lot to deer hunt, etc. On one trip some (10?) years ago, we were talking to the neighbor. He was born there, has lived there all his life. He asked if he could cut down a tree that blocked his view of the road when he pulls out. I pulled out a piece of paper and gave him written permission. We chit chatted a few more minutes, and he said, " I Have a confession to tell you. This has bothered me all of my life." As he went on, he confessed to shooting my Grandmothers dog. She died in '68. He was truly shook up about it. It seems the dog, was harrassing their cow who was pregnant at the time. He was a kid, so this was circa late 30's. I told him it was ok, he wasnt biting. I was starting to feel bad for him. He wanted me to tell my Dad he had done it and was sorry. I kept telling him it was 50+ years ago, and not a big deal. I would have shot it too under those circumstances. I decided to lie, as I will to help people or their feelings. I told him I remembered my Dad saying he didnt like the dog they had when he was a kid. It had bit him, and it ran away and didnt come home and he was happy. I saw some relief, but I also learned about guilt that day. I guess the more of a conscious one has, the longer some things seem to seem worse to the offender.

Pistol-whipped a guy while I was drunk on Tequila, with a .45 auto. He deserved it, but I'm sorry just the same. I was going to kill him, but at the crucial moment, I decided not to. I won't mention the reason why the incident occurred...but I'm glad I didn't kill him. Believe it or not, we're still good friends. FWIW, I would have handled the situation differently if I was sober. Not trying to blame the alcohol, I took full responsibility, but it's just the facts. The other good thing, [besides not killing the guy], is that I quit drinking hard liquor. I don't drink at all, now. Damn this Injun blood, can't handle the firewater...[:)]
