Make dough, let rise, push out flat by hand, cut out, let rise a bit more, then cook on/in a covered skillet.

I should acquire a covered skillet (or at least a skillet cover).

And a mixer (doh). Do I have to get an expensive one?

If you intend to make bread with it, the general consensus is that cheap ones can't handle it and wear out or break. That includes the lower end kitchen aid mixers as well.

No mixer needed for these English muffins, though. Just mixed by hand.

Tonights dinner:
Corn on the cob, zucchini, summer squash, string beans, cucumber and beets all fresh from the garden. Plus we split a chicken breast not pictured. She made me potato salad also but I couldn't eat any more!

Hard to get much better than that! I love garden meals. Did you grow some sweet corn yourself? I've always wondered how much room it would take up to get a halfway decent amount of it.

The real Oktoberfest starts in mid-Septemeber, and ends on the first weekend in October (IIRC), so it's basically a whole month before Halloween.

That weird one at C2 is pressed together from the scraps left after cutting out the others, and you can obviously see that I cut a few too close. Really not sure what happened with the oblong one at B4. I must have stretched it after cutting it out.

Afaik, all kitchen aid mixers have the same plastic sacrificial gear. I worry a little about the hinge on the ones that have one though. We haven't had any issues with ours and it saw bread dough a couple of times a week for a while.

If ours was to break, I'd probably shop for the smallest used Hobart mixer I could find.

It looks like there's no such thing as an illegal knife in Wisconsin, so I went slightly impractical today.

I've seen some industrial mixers sell at auction for surprisingly cheap. Most people don't want to dedicate that much space to a mixer though. Lol
