Yeah, and they are huge (making the 562 look small...). I just didn't like the focus.

Sorry to interrupt but I thought this was the best place to ask.

Why is there almost always a Microtech auto for sale in the EE?  Does the fidget factor wear off or what?  Bonus points for replies from people who've owned one and then sold it.

Seems like a logical place to ask

Personally I haven't had one but I've had autos and assisted knives. It's fun for a bit but then it's just kinda loud and a bit much.

Spyderco Ikuchi.  Bought it as a birthday gift for my self.

Took a bit to develop the callous on my finger to properly use the flipper mechanism but it’s a nice little knife.

Fidget factor wore off after a few weeks, but I still find it incredibly useful for everyday tasks. Carries extremely small. Second is on its way to me now.

...there’s always a Les Baer for sale in the EE too. No matter how smokin hot a woman may be, somewhere there’s a guy sick of fucking her

Gingerskanks ain't wrong.

They are probably the best production OTF out there. Everyone needs to try one, find out for themselves whether it is their thing or not.

For me, once my state allowed autos, had to try them.

Have gone through maybe 4-5 MTs. Only one stuck around. Lives in my wife's truck.

Although handling it just now, kinda making me want a BH...

It also looks like Rothy is selling more than just shoes...

When they change over to S45VN eventually as their baseline, may need to try that one.

The Ikuchi is on my list as well. Neat little knife. That's and the Kapara are two I really debate.

That one was from suingab, he posted half a dozen or so on knife_swap a while back. I imagine they were orders that didn't get paid for or something.

I didn't see that about DLT. Interesting. I picked up one of the glitter gold from their surprise drop, mostly because it was super cheap ($63). It's horribly gaudy. I might look into getting it re-covered.

The other day when I was lamenting missing out on the dagger Cypher I caught myself looking at dagger Combat Troodons at DLT.  Sub 4", but barely.  They never got back with me on m390 availability though.

I ordered a scale for mine from Russia - two months ago now. It was supposed to come by today but now Amazon says "running late"

ETA - Aramis.

Maybe you can tell me if you have been looking at them, why the he’ll are the Troodons so much more than the ultratechs?

Bigger and lower production I assume.

There was very little difference in price between the CTs and Cypher though.

Bigger and lower production makes sense, but there must be something more. The CT BH edition I looked at tonight was over $700, the Cyphers were more like $500 IIRC and the ultratechs are ~$300. Hell of a jump. Feel like I am missing something else.

Well the normal CTs are 480 to 500.  That green one is expensive for some reason.

Oh wow, the hellhound bh version is over $800. Damn.

I like the size better on the CT. I see what you are saying now with other CTs. Never really looked at CTs, just when they come up in a bh search.

This is the one I asked about trying to see if it was M390:

https://www.dlttrading.com/microtech-142-4-combat-troodon-d-e-black-handle-satin-blade

I only like daggers.  That's the whole point of OTFs, the ability to have a dagger blade.  The protech large dons look stabby but are still bayonet style with the dull edge on the exposed side since they side open.

If you emailed and didn’t hear back in two business days, I would call. They are normally really responsive. I have seen some weird stuff happening even with emails lately. Or, if it was Jason Hamre that got the inquiry, he quit after being caught trying to sell a gec on eBay that hadn’t even hit the dlt website yet, so may need to resend. Call pins them down though. They can go check and call you back or email you.
