For some reason, the sellers aren't sure because it's a big stocking order that just arrived. We'll, if the only way to determine if that shipment has any Elmax is to open some boxes then too bad so sad, you better open some boxes or contact the buyer, apologize and make it right. Too many sellers of damn near everything you can buy treat their customers as if you are lucky they are talking to you and even considering selling you something. I'm not talking about taking shit from the special snowflake customer that pops up every now and then and will never be satisfied but rather just a regular guy who wants a modicum of respect and service for their hard earned money. I don't get hyped up about steels other than it's cool to try some of the variety that's out there. If I had to use a knife in say a defense situation, a trauma doc isn't going to look at me and say "good thing he was using S30V. Maxamet would have killed you." Lol View Quote I doubt there was any fraudulent intent. You wouldn’t be able to tell which steel was used from opening it up either. Both the knife and the box are completely unmarked. I just noticed all of the recent UTs I’ve been seeing were 204P, and they do them in runs. Hence, no way it’s Elmax with that date. On the flip side I guess I can’t say it’s not Elmax either, but whatever. It’s one of the three and it’s staying. Horse is so dead it’s not even bruising anymore. |

His comments are an interesting start to a larger conversation though. It is no longer "caveat emptor" in today's market place.
As a maxim of the early common law, the rule was well suited to buying and selling carried on in the open marketplace or among close neighburs. The increasing complexity of modern commerce has placed the buyer at a disadvantage. He is forced to rely more and more upon the skill, judgment, and honesty of the seller and manufacturer. And that's why you shouldn't buy from BHQ. |
