I guess if it ruffles too many feathers, I'll just call it smoked chicken instead, but I've done several chickens and even more chicken parts (wings and hindquarters) and it's always very tasty.

I have a Becker BK-7 and a Schrade SCHF52 if I need to build a shelter with a knife. I just needed something practical to put on a plate carrier and it's perfect for that. It looks like it's durable enough for bushcraft work based on all the YouTube knife enthusiast bro videos though. I will get an Esee one day though. I wanted a Doug Ritter RSK Mk2 but they are discontinued now.

We're going to need more evidence of these phases

I'm amatuer in the sense that I have made <20 or so knives over the years, and have sold but a couple, most I either still own or were gifted.

Folder Phases:
Bottom - 1st folder ever.
Next up - 2nd folder ever.
a few one offs, and a couple fixed blades
Next up - Wharncliffs - made up a bunch of these,  various scales , bolsters, this is the only Axis type lock of them
Next up - 'Tacticals' - This was the prototype of the set, has lived in my pocket for years.
Last/top - latest of 'Tacticals' to be completed.

I have a few part sets for the tacticals & wharncliffs that I will finish up at some point when I feel the urge and have time.

Spyderco decided to use full size liners on the cruwear micarta pm2 instead of nested....not sure im a fan of that.

How can all the aftermarket makers pull off micarta scales that don't break with nested liners but spyderco cant?

That seems odd. Wouldn't the liners be handling 99% of the stress anyway? Street price on Spyderco is getting kind of crazy, too. Over $170 for a PM2?

No idea honestly. I know the aftermarket micarta scales I got for mine required me to fiddle with the screws and pivot to get it centered and easily opened, so it might just be they dont want to deal with people bitching. I'm also a sa.ple size of 1, so take that into consideration.

Whatever does it for you.

It doesn't matter so much for bushcraft which knife you use so long as you take lots of pics and spend more time writing about it than actually doing it.

I still think its stupid. I don't like the look of full size liners on spyderco knives.

Theyve done nested liners on micarta before, idk why they think it won't work this time.

Probably gonna cancel my pre order and just get some rgt scales for a m390 pm2

So far all they've said is the canvass micarta isn't rigid enough for them. It is curious that aftermarket guys do it but they won't, I wonder if it's because of the way they make a bunch of scales at once or they're worried about long term durability

That blade finish is awesome, and it looks great overall. I guess the thing with the removable flipper is for Euro countries where regulations require two hand opening only. Then again you probably knew that though.... That was the whole concept with the TRE - you could put on or take off parts to suit what was allowed in the countries you were traveling to etc..

I hadn't thought of that, but it makes perfect sense, especially for a Euro maker. Really opens up the market for a particular knife.

No issues with the RGT (from WIC). It centered up nicely, action is great, and they are nested nicely. If I pinch it hard in the middle there is a little flex but nothing off-putting or that you would notice in use. It is progressive - it will give a little but firms up quickly and you can't squeeze it past that.

(didn't get it lined up quite right for the pic - it is actually slightly closer to the right side)
