sigh SYDNEY, Australia -- A statue of the Virgin Mary that attracted thousands of pilgrims last year is reportedly shedding tears again. The Australian Associated Press said a member of the family that owns the 28-inch fiberglass statue claims that on Good Friday the figure once again began shedding what appeared to be oily, rose-scented tears. Last year, the statue, bought in Thailand by parishioner Patty Powell, was displayed at a Roman Catholic Church south of Perth. The statue was withdrawn from public display by Perth Archbishop Barry Hickey and was subsequently shown at Powell's home, where it continued to attract visitors. Hickey isn't calling it a miracle but won't call it a fake, either. Scientists tested the statue but couldn't find the source of the weeping, but a second investigation, organized by Hickey, found no signs of trickery.

Statues weeping. Palms bleeding. Are all these people crazy? Is it mass hysteria? Or is there something to all these things? Its been going on for a long, long time now.

Well, God - the Almighty, all-knowing, Creator of the Universe - doesn't have anything better to do (with all that's going on in the world) than to make a plastic statue shed tears and bleed.

If it is God thats making these statues weep and bleed, I'm sure its no problem for Him. I would suspect Hes very good at multi-tasking. Just a quick snap of the fingers could make a statue weep. Wouldn't detract from His other duties. [;)]
