Oral Argument in the Third Circuit in the Machinegun case on April 4, 2016 at 10:00 AM in Philadelphia. We are planning on a dinner that night. The location is TBA. We would like a headcount of people that are in to attend a dinner. (also if you are coming to the argument, please post that as well!) Any other details, ask or suggest something.
Also I'm pretty sure we will want to eat lunch as well somewhere. Oral Argument Panel and Time |

Good luck but it looks like the judges you will be arguing in front of were appointed by Clinton and Obama

I'd attend the hearing if I wasn't working. Maybe I can meet up for the dinner. What place is in mind for that?

No way possible I could attend but I will be satisfied to live vicariously thru those that do.

Ok, according to thread responses, I have CONFIRMED:
Arguments: Nolo, Wolfwood, Heller, brich2929,Watson, SimonPhoto, dlm1984, scmar Lunch: Nolo, Wolfwood, Heller, brich2929 , Watson, SimonPhoto, dlm1984, scmar Dinner: Nolo,Wolfwood, Heller, brich2929, Watson, dlm1984, scmar I have as MAYBE: Arguments: Abrenneman, Phillgui, CKxx Lunch: Abrenneman, Phillgui, CKxx Dinner: CKxx If you are definitely coming, respond below with what you're attending. If you're a MAYBE, also respond with what you might be attending. I will edit this post to update as people join in. Also, let's talk about lunch and dinner: Places and times. The Arguments are set for 10am , April 4th at The Albert BransonMaris Courtroom, (19th Floor, U.S. Courthouse, 6th & Market Sts., Philadelphia,PA) I recommend you be 15 minutes early. Google Maps Link: Third Circuit Court and surrounding area I didn't find a Visitor's Guide on the 3rd Circuit Website (like the 5th Circuit has on theirs), but we can probably safely assume the rules are the same: Valid State-issued Photo ID will be required to enter the building. No weapons, knives, etc. No Cameras, Cell phones permitted but must be OFF. No recording devices of any kind. Be prepared to go through security screening, removing belt and shoes. Dress Code: I'll let Nolo chime in here. I believe we want to dress as nice as possible- In the other thread for New Orleans they're saying to wear a Conservative Suit and tie. Equivalent for Women (longer than knee-length skirt, no cleavage) |

Put me down as a "maybe" for all three. I'll let you know once my plans solidify.

Nolo, are you staying in Philly proper or elsewhere?
I'm liking a visit to Fogo for dinner, but if you're staying close to where I think Watson is, there are other options that way (also closer to my house) Let's hear suggestions on lunch and dinner!! |

So no mossy oak suits allowed im guessing? As long as the suit is made of some sort of cloth, it's all good, right? suits are required? what about Tuxedo t shirts? edit: would love to attend, but I work that night. Give them hell Nolo |

I'm planning on being at the dinner.
However, work is a little crazy right now, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to make the arguments and lunch. My other question is related to the dress code. How essential is a suit coat? I have plenty of dress shirts & slacks, even a tie or two, but I keep procrastinating on buying a suit since I'm trying to drop the 30 lbs or so that have accumulated over the past while. |
