I just clicked on Wideners and the site is totally different said it was updated. So, I went to look for a few things and they were not there. Then I looked for some regular things and the prices were much higher. So I called and talked with one of the ladies and she did not know what was now available and I jokingly said did Stan (Widener) sell the business and she got confused and said hold on. She came back and said they sold the web site. I pressed further and she finally admitted it has been sold and the name is now owned by someone else and she had no idea what they at Wideners were doing and what was happening to them. I have spent 100K+++ in the last 10 years and they have been (along with SGA from 2011) where I got almost all my ammo and various other goodies including virtually all my reloading bullets (about 350,000 of them). They have been so good to work with, always ready to help when I called the very few times orders were not perfect and they made them good, sometimes with extras immediately. Personally this is a huge blow and will have a big impact on me as the new site prices are substantially higher Example CCI Blazer Brass 9MM 124gr was $9.50 a box/50 ($190.00/1,000) and is now $228.75 a case That is typical across the board but also many items previously carried are not on the site at all This is a sad day for ammo buyers and reloaders in the USA and the original Wideners will be missed |

Wow. Damn, that sucks.
They've been one of the first go to places for me, guess we'll have to see how the new owners stack up. Doesn't sound good though. |
|
That does suck, I spoke with them yesterday regarding an order that I have been waiting on. Fucker better show up.
$360.00 worth of bullets. |
|
Goddamn it.
Their prices were good enough that the last thing I bought from them was a pallet of Wolf Gold. Yes, a pallet, as in I sent my guys in the shop dump truck for pickup and they loaded it with a forklift. 75 cases. |
|
Wow. I just received M1a Checkmate mags and AR mags from them. I guess that might be the last order.

Amateur Just joking, serious numbers waaaay above mine. Thanks for posting will (sadly) check it out. |

I'm curious about the firearms and surplus that used to be on the site as well.

why do people think that selling a buisness is always a negative thing. they are sold all the time with no change in the structure. never know maybe they will offer more stuff at better prices
|
|
I just checked the powder out, not a single 1lb powder container listed, they have powder in-stock, all 8 lbs (a few 4's).
ETA No primers period (in-stock), maybe they are changing inventory over but this seems odd (-0- primers). |

Interesting. Don't think I've gotten a sale email from them all week.

When I win Mega Millions, I'm going to buy up businesses and charge more for Everything and make even more millions!

New owner .......Michael Bloomberg going out of business sale soon. That was actually on that cock suckers strategy list was to buy out gun/ammo shops just to close them down.
|

I haven't ordered anything from them in about 6 months, primarily because I don't need anything. If the price increase is like that across the board, then whoever bought the company is pricing themselves out of widener's market.
With that kinda of increase, they're probably now more expensive than AIM on ammunition prices. If they got rid of specialty reloader stuff, then the store is now just another online dealer with little to nothing separating it from anyone else. I'll have to go take a look and see if my statements are correct and if they are, that'll be a real shame. |

She told me all orders made will be shipped from the old warehouse (The real Wideners)
I had recently ordered one pack of 124gr 9MM (2,000) just a small restock (I had ordered 14K 9MM a couple months ago) and was going to order another 4K and 4K 230gr 45ACP bullets next week. When I clicked "My account" on the new site (same link) it said I had never made any orders. |

I have spent a lot of money their myself over the years and was one of the first stops when I am shopping for reloading supplies . They didn't need more stuff they already had everything most people would need. |

ALL the bulk IMI is gone from the site. That was the last purchase I made just a few weeks ago. A case of IMI 9mm. My favorite fmj of all time. I got in on the 9MM (and picked up another case of 1200M193). I picked up 2 of the 115gr FMJ at $189/1K and 2 of the 115gr JHP for 219/1k a real steal fro SD nine One day we will tell our grand children about a place where IMI was stacked deep and sold cheap and they will ask us to tell the great story over and over while others scoff and say such a web site never existed. Ah Wideners, another good one gone |
