Weren't we told there were no rivets on the Liberty Ship hulls....all welded?

Maybe on some other timeline! Totally bazillions of rivets used in this one!

Rivets holding the deck down. Rivets holding the rivets down. I like this plan!

There probably need to be some instances of Kilroy Was Here on board, particularly on any crates on deck.

Looks like quite a crew - how many kids do you have working on the Liberty Ships?

As to brass's question about the torpedo hole in our 14 foot version, yes.   We went down to the U-Boat display and did a little planning.  We decided on a  slightly different position for our larger Liberty ship.....like on the opposite side of the room.   It will have a similar dive to the U-Boat for a little continuity in our display, and because it will offer the best advantage for our viewers.

We have ordered lights, and the 1100 plastic bubble balls have come in already.  We want to do something similar to the bubbles on our U-Boat.   There was much discussion as to when we should begin the sculpture of the hole, and we came to a consensus that we wanted the base structure in place before we get all of our detail texture(panels) on the hull.
They were all too eager to slice into our pretty hull.

We are attaching wires inside the hull to our main beam.  These will help to support and sculpt our explosion/air/oil mixture.

We also started sculpting plexiglass flows that will be a platform for our bubbles.

Depends on the system. Some tilt out, some pivot.

Not sure if these are actually Liberty Ship davits, but that's how they are labeled; more or less matches the picture posted above:

30 min aerial drone video of the Jeremiah O'Brien

(there's a painted picture of a small, not too detailed topless woman painted on the ship)
I blurred it a little so you can see a preview.

It's too bad you don't have a navigable waterway, so that the Jeremiah O'Brien could be brought upriver for a hands-on inspection.

On second thought - FIELD TRIP!
