I hate my boss.
Slave driving SOB.
For example, we worked 12 days straight trying to hit a mile stone and after we finish on time, he give us flack for comming in late.

Thats just a small example of his bad management skills.  There are many many other examples of this guys problems.

I got my mother inlaw at home and a boss I can't stand at work.  The only place I'm happy is in my dreams.

Life is not looking good right now.

I'm in the proccess of looking for another job and its very slow.  Did an interview with another company and they wanna hire me but not for a few months.

In some serious pain right now.

If you can tell me stories about your boss I'm sure it would cheer me up.

thanks[:(]

Yup, my boss pulls some real stupid stuff.

Like spending big bucks on machine room floor painting, while the cooling towers are falling apart. (Duh, we can't provide AC for the building, but the floors look great!)

Or how about his utter and complete favoritism to his golfing friend?

He's done so much stupid $hit, that I'm convinced he's a classic example of the Peter Principle: from http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/PETERPR.html

The Peter Principle was first introduced by L. Peter in a humoristic book (of the same title) describing the pitfalls of bureaucratic organization. The original principle states that in a hierarchically structured administration, people tend to be promoted up to their "level of incompetence". The principle is based on the observation that in such an organization new employees typically start in the lower ranks, but when they prove to be competent in the task to which they are assigned, they get promoted to a higher rank. This process of climbing up the hierarchical ladder can go on indefinitely, until the employee reaches a position where he or she is no longer competent. At that moment the process typically stops, since the established rules of bureacracies make that it is very difficult to "demote" someone to a lower rank, even if that person would be much better fitted and more happy in that lower position. The net result is that most of the higher levels of a bureaucracy will be filled by incompetent people, who got there because they were quite good at doing a different (and usually, but not always, easier) task than the one they are expected to do.

Yeah, this guy does the same thing.
Favors these other guys on a different project.  Doesn't let them work late and an insane work scheduel like he does to me and my guys.

Seriously "F"ed up thing to do.

Seems like thats the only solution.  If I go to another job, who's to say there won't be another @ss head.

Thats the only true solution.  Other than shooting my current boss.

My boss can be very unreasonable. If you don't tell the guy what he wants to hear it will be an unacceptable answer. People who are "A" players don't give unacceptable answers.
I'm not complaining... I get 40 hours a week to do 60 hours of stuff. I'm allowed about 4 hours a week to do 10 hours of research and paperwork.
On top of that I have to listen to the guy bitch about how much pressure he is under and that he's thinking about quitting.
What a bunch of B.S....Sometimes I wish he could hear himself talk....

My boss is just an @ss head.

He get himself and his company into situations letting clients walk all over him and he takes it out on us.

We get the work done (suffering 60 to 80 hour weeks) to help and he shiets all over us.

He needs some serious managment skills.

I was working at the LBNSY in the Public Works
section. My daughter came down with the measles
and I called in sick for four days, Tuesday
thru Friday. Went back to work on Monday and
filled out a sick leave slip and turned it in.
During lunch back at the shop he comes up into the loft and throws the sick leave request at
me and says "You can't take sick leave because
your kid had measles, I'am docking you 4 days pay." I uncrumpled the sick leave request and
walked up to him and turned it over hanging it
in his face and said "You've been a super for 5 years and you have'nt looked at the back of
of this, read line 2.'Employee can use accurred
sick leave for dependent children illness.'"
He did an about face and stormed downstairs.
The crew was howling! I spent the next 3 months
detailed to the rigging shop, the best job in the Yard. What a dumbass.

Yes, as a matter of fact I retired from the fire department I worked for prematurely because of him.  He was the most arrogant, but ignorant, management by tantrum, prima donna I've ever worked for.  In fact, I was reduced in rank from a Captain back to Firefighter because of him.  He's the only man Will Rodgers never met!!

I pretty well hated my old boss. A 6'4" Mexican that had the worst case of 'little man syndrome' I've ever seen. "Because I said so and that's all you need to know!", exact quote. And this fool must have been ashamed of his heritage because he claimed to be GREEK!!! Sorry Gonzales, it just doesn't fly.

My new boss is pretty okay. He actually goes to bat for us instead of leaving us hang in the breeze.

And before I get flamed on the "Mexican" bit, I have many friends of Hispanic decent. Including my work partner, who spent time in Greece (and speaks it fluently) in the U.S.A.F.

Besides, those Mexican's sure can cook!!!

I've had a boss from hell.  Better to forget all of that.

My boss now is 1500 miles away in another country, if Canada counts as another country.  Haven't seen him for about a year.  There are several others who claim to be my supervisor 100 miles away, but I can blow them off or flat out ignore them.

The site supervisor was out here a couple months ago, but I've only talked to him once since then.  The morning conference calls are a thing of the past.  Order the parts you need and just keep plodding along.

It does not get too much better than this.

I had been working in the restaurant business for the last 20 years.  My boss is so brainwashed by his boss it sickens me. I got stuck woking 8a.m. to midnight, 7 days a week from New Years day until I got fed up with it on Valentine's day and gave my notice. I am sure all he could think about was that big bonus check he was going to get because he wasn't paying any other management salaries where I was working. The more I think about it, the more I am starting to hate him. BROWN NOSER

Our engineering manager is clueless. I checked the company transfer regs, and I got an internal transfer to another division, which he cannot block because it came with a promotion. The look on his face when I informed him I was leaving was priceless. He immediately went into damage control tactics and whining, to no avail. It's sweet, like getting a new job without all the paperwork, and I don't have to touch my 401k or lose my stock options.

Don't get mad - get even, or at least get a transfer! [:D]

I've got you all beat. My ex-boss (the CLEO of the county) not only wore dresses--no really, but played politics like nobody's business. My best friend arrested a girl and her boyfriend on a drug charge. She worked for the governor. The boyfriend went for a bench trial, she went for a jury trial. The guy was found guilty. His lawyer complained to the agency. Suddenly, my friend gets fired. The girl walked on her charge because of no prosecution. I was glad to quit (had nowhere to go), and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Akira

Been there.  Still there, sorta.

My boss's boss was a real prick.  I lack the suck-ass gene, which didn't help.  He'd do things like write a nasty note if I left my calulator on over night.

When I'd stayed late and finished a project & drove to the post office (to save the extra day or two that using the mail room would cost), he chewed my ass out in the open office (15 people or so) for putting the postage on my expense report.  For daring to defend myself, he threatened to fire me on the spot.

The only good part about sticking it out was to see him get twist in the wind, then finally get pushed off the plank in one of several reorganizations we went through.  Sweet!

At the time, I was a single parent and in court to keep my son from being taken out of P.R.K. while his mom bounced from one state to another.

Now he's out of high school and I feel like I can take on the risk of a new job, so I'm looking.

Current boss is still lacking just about every skill his job requires, but at least he learned to leave me alone most of the time, requiring only an occasional milkbone or obedience lesson.  Oops - that's not fair. To the canines.

Do what you need, meanwhile hang in there.  You can change your life.

once:  "I don't know why anybody would study
trigonometry unless they were getting into
pharmaceuticals or something like that...."

I about fell out of my chair, not knowing
whether to laugh or puke.

He jerked everybody's internet priveleges at
