In the Gulf war, we called them "Go" & "No/Go" pills. This isn't anything new...They used to give the Recon guys in Nam "Benny's"...

Benzedrine has been an issue stimulant since WWII. That being said, I -STILL- think these guys are being railroaded.
The incident was tragic, and those Canadian soldiers should not have lost their lives in such a situation. But if I'm flying in a combat zone and see tracers where my guys are not supposed to be, and believe them to be coming in my direction, I'm dropping ordnance. Unfortunately, communications between forces of different countries is not what it could be. This is going to happen again, whenever you do have a "coalition" of forces. |

One more thing: Command knew that the Canadians were in the sector where the F-16s were patrolling, and did not advise them. The ROE does clear a pilot to take action when they believe that they are being directly fired upon.
These charges are the most severe charges ever brought in a friendly fire case. EVER. Something stinks, people. Those Canadian fighting men deserve to be remembered, but not by having some armchair commando's butt being covered by sacrificing two men who were doing what they perceived to be their duty. I'm off the soapbox. |

You know, the Gov. Ryan actually did one good thing with this, he started a legal defense fund for them.
