LOL! Last summer, I was working at a moving and storage company, and I used the forklift to move our 7x7x5 storage crates around. All was good until our regular forklift broke down and we had to use the alternate - this old piece of junk with manual trans, no power steering, and 2-foot long forks, which were spaced with about 18in between them. Of course, there were fork extensions that made them 8 or so feet long. One crate (empty, thank god) tipped forward and fell off of the short forks, even though it was tilted back as far as it would go. Another time, when trying to lift one crate off the top of another, the back of it slid off the edge and was hanging off, thanks to trying to maneuver the extended, close-together forks under the crate, where they just barely fit, with the manual trans and no power steering. Luckily, I was able to get around the back of that crate and move it back into position. That day was such a pain in the ass. Should we add the 1911 to the list of things that should not be dropped? [;D]

I was going to say that. Anyway. I balanced a 28000 pound SkyTrak 10054 on the front two wheels. That was fun.

My brother is a forklift mechanic. he works mostly on the docks in Philly. One day he gets sent out to one of the piers to inspect a forklift that had been driven off the dock, into the Delaware river. When he arrived on the scene, a diver was just about to go down to hook up the cable from the crane. The diver goes down and a few minutes later he comes back up to ask, "Which one do you want me to hook it to?" Don't drop your forklift into the river. Don't do it twice. Ben. (Story from my Bro' Andy)
