Quoted: I don't like them at all, but some people just like the way the grip feels I suppose. View Quote To me, the CD grip feels much better, but he thing doesn't point right, and there's no Grip Force Adapter thing to correct for it because of the grip safety. Then of course there's the epically high bore axis, and very "meh" reset. I'm not a huge fan of Glocks, but my 19's not treated me wrong in any fashion, and it works for everyone in our household--while some couldn't pull back the slide on the XD series. |

Given a choice between my XD 45 and my Highpoint 45 in a fire fight....I'd pick the Highpoint hands down. It's accurate and has a decent trigger. You ever own a highpoint? |
|
Glocks have brick-like ergonomics and blow up.
M&Ps are ugly and have shitty triggers. XDs/XDMs are ugly and have too many safeties. Blah blah blah, Get what you like. I like XDs and XDMs and shoot the shit out of them at the range, in USPSA/IDPA, and at courses. They always work. Period. And I like the way they look. |
|
I like my .45 XDS much better than the Glocks I've owned. Don't care about the grip safety but it fits my hand better.
Now keeping it out of the shop is another topic. |
|
|
Handguns are like shoes, either they fit or they don't.
I had an XD and I hated it. Don't like Glocks either. I love my S&W M&Ps (with Apex triggers ). If you have the choice, get what works best for you. |

Duty pistol is xd 45 tactical, off duty is glock 19 or p229 dak. Just got fnx 45 tactical which is > all of them.... get every pistol

About the only way you know about the grip safety is by looking at it.
When firing it's hardly noticed. An .45 XD compact came my way to try out with a few of each 10 & 13 round mags and I decided to keep it. No complaints here. |

You don't buy a polymer gun for looks, you buy it for utility. I chose the M&P out of the three, and after 30 minutes with some polishing belts on the trigger group contact surfaces I'm very happy with it. But I don't really care what it looks like.

The XD lines have supported chambers and have a reputation for reliability and will hold up to strong reloads. Also they tend not to have the glock kaboom. They point well and when holstering you can keep your hand off the grip safety and if anything gets in the trigger its not going to go off.
I like the g19 a lot (is my CCW) but the XD are good shooting guns. They do feel a little top heavy and the lack of factory support is bothersome - lose an extractor, you gotta send the gun back to Springfield. I like the M&P pistols over both. |

If you're buying that type of gun based on looks, then you're a fucktard. I tried both and the XD fit my hand and pointed for me better than the Glock, so I sold my Glock and kept the XD. See, this is what it boiled down to for me too.. I wanted the .45acp and the XD just felt better in my hand than the Glock did. That is what it came down too really. But as that other guy said, I have a Smith&Wesson, Sig, and Ruger as well as another Springfield in 1911, get all the guns |

The XD is a solid weapon. It's really down to preference. The XDm fits my hand well. The XDs fits my hand the best of any of the subcompact pistols.

Let's see...
A better trigger... More ergonomic... No kabooms... Better sights... Simplified takedown... No fanbois thuggery... Hmmm... No Glock! |

Are their many L.E. agencies allow the use of the HS 2000 / Springfield xd series firearms?

I fired my new XD.45 about 50 times and concluded I had just been fucked. What a second rate piece of shit. View Quote I've got over a 1,000 rounds through my XD 45. It is accurate, 100% reliable, easy to shoot, fits my hand, and one of the best pistols I have ever owned. It is wasn't huge, I'd carry it instead of my Beretta. |

It's technically a SA with no safety other than the grip and trigger insert. No thanks.

I've seen them in my local sheriff's department's holsters back home in Missouri, as well as a neighboring town's PD, and several other PD/SDs all over the place, typically at the ones that let the individual officer carry his own or choose from what the department has on hand. |

The battle of the injection molded polymer is getting into full swing, eh?
I have an XD-9SC. No complaints with it. Is it the greatest gun in the world? Of course not. But mine has been nothing but reliable. |

It's technically a SA with no safety other than the grip and trigger insert. No thanks. View Quote Eh, sorta. The grip safety actuates a firing pin block that is easily as "safe" as the Glock Safe Action System. I dont have a dog in this fight, as I have XD's and Glocks, but I really dont buy the argument that an XD is somehow less safe than the Glock. |
|
I own both an XDM and a G19. I like how they both feel. I didn't buy it because of the looks.
|

Carried a 1911 for years. When I decided to go hi-cap, the XD-45 with the thumb safety had the same controls I was used to. Easy transition.
Still, bought my daughter a 19 gen 3. I enjoy shooting it, but every time I pull it out my thumb feels homeless. |
