Do you consider fruitcake a tasty holiday snack or a bowel colgging abomination? I love it, especially the dark variety. A couple of thick slices topped with butter can't be beat.

Love the stuff. Can't get enough of it if it is GOOD fruitcake. A well balanced fruitcake should be about 33 percent cake and spices, 33 percent nuts and 33 percent fruit. But good fruitcake depends on who is eating it and what they prefer in a fruitcake. Most store bought fruitcakes I've had, had too much fruit in them.

Pass. I'd rather have Bannana Bread.

Well, that covers 99 percent of the ingredients. The other one percent is believed to be a new element. Unfortunately, the technology to unbind this unknown substance from the fruit and cake-like matrix has yet to be developed.

Keep a good distance. Fragments and bounce back can be issues, even with M855.

Just don't drop it on your foot. Fruitcake is a Commie plot left over from the 50s.

Fruitcake Recipe 1 cup of water 1 cup sugar 4 large eggs 2 cups dried fruit 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup brown sugar lemon juice nuts 1 gallon whiskey Sample the whiskey to check for quality Take a large bowl. Check the whiskey again to be sure it is of the highest quality. Pour one level cup and drink. Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer; beat a cup of butter in a large, fluffy bowl. Add 1 teaspoon sugar and beat again. Cry another tup. Turn off mixer. Break 2 legs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers, pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the whiskey to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift 2 cups salt. Or something. Whocares?! Check the whiskey. Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Spoon of sugar or something. Whatever you can find. Grease the oven. Turn the cake tin to 350 degrees. DonÕt forget to beat off the turner. Throw the bowl out of the window. Check the whiskey again. Go to bed. Who the hell likes fruitcake anyway?!

Fruitcake is O.K. if you pour a bit of rum or bourbon over the top of it. Wash it down with a nice potent eggnog and a Merry Christmas to you all.[<|:d>]

Glad you brought up the subject of fruitcake. In 1943, my grandmother baked and sent one to my dad, flying 'Forts out of England. He sent it to my uncle Bob, in North Africa, who sent it to my uncle Joe in the Pacific who sent it to my uncle Bill, in Alaska, who kept it until a cousin of mine went to Korea who sent it to a friend of the family in Okinawa who sent it to another relative of mine back in Korea who took the damned thing home and kept it until my cousin Tommy in Vietnam got it, who sent it to me stationed back in the states at the time. What I'm looking for is someone getting sent to the Middle east so I can send the damned thing to them in hopes that they will bury the damned thing in the fu(king desert somewhere. There is nothing that's as big of a pain in the ass as a goddamned fruitcake!
