I don't think anyone is going to answer you publically. No one in their right mind would, anyway [:)]

I used to play a little. There wasn't really much time between sacrificing animals and killing my buddies though. [;)]

I dont care what people think. I am a NERD and damn proud of it. I play D&D, L5R, StarWars/Trek RPG and Aberrant. I was able to convert an Anti last summer because she was a LARP (Live Action Role Playing) and she needed a gun. I turned her on to P08 Lugers and she has never looked back! (She now owns 2 and has her CCW for them) RPGs are no worse than a good story, only in RPGs, you can take an active role in shaping the story. Red Alert! Shields Up! Arm Phasers and Photon Torpedos. I played. [:D] Now I guess the question becomes: Did I play because I wasn't in my right mind, or was I not in my right mind because I played?

I played in junior high and a limited amount in high school. by the middle of our sophomore year in highschool, though, we'd end up getting together and goofing off to such an extent that the adventures were pretty dumb to even try. just about everybody just wanted treasure and a god-like character, and wanted to do stuff like go buy prostitutes or whore out their own character (if female). the game became considerably less fun. now, i can't say i have any real desire (or time) to play, though i do look back on the times we played (before becoming idiots about it) somewhat fondly.

I played D&D. That was back when the internet wasn't like it is today and computers were only used for business and science.

I played D&D in the 80's, too. From 4th to 6th grade. Played other RPG's and Warhammer until freshman year of high school.
Link Posted: 12/10/2002 12:29:24 PM EDT
I played a lot of D&D as a kid as well. Of course we wouldn't tell people we played, instead we would tell them we were doing more socially acceptable stuff like smoking crack or watching gay porn.

I played a lot while in the Air Force in the late 80's, so much in fact, that my wife went into labor while we were finishing up a 3-day marathon game :P Played a bit last year, but it fell apart, not enough interest, it seems. I still use the same name I started with all those years ago, so a small part of it is still with me :) Kazion (the retired mage)

I played a TON between '78 and '83 (College). My Cleric is still out there, flingin' hammers, prayin' to St. George, and cussing out Elves.

Hello, my name is ByteTheBullet... I played Advanced Dungeons & Dragons back in the 80's. My Dwarf Cleric(Phmegh) reached 9th level then I started DMing. I even 'officiated' in a AD&D convention. I have played many flavors of RPG's. A 3-Liter Mountain Dew and a jumbo bag of Doritos can help you through the nite. ByteTheBullet (-:

From about 8th grade up till Senior year of High School I played the old school first edition. Picked back up with a group in Junior year college and have still been playing since (2nd edition....I'm very anti-3rd). Maybe it's just me, but I don't see it as something to be ashamed of whatsoever. I do a hell of a lot of other things with my life, and I get out, and I have a social life. Alistaire SummerIsle, 30th level assassin. Completely morose fuck who's a demon with the scimitar.

T2000 was COOL to make up characters, but the battle system sucked! It could take an hour to fight a 3 minute battle. I played D&D Basic in middle school and AD&D through high school.

I used to D&D a lot, now I just play Dark Age of Camelot, on the Merlin server. Anyone else play that?

TWILIGHT 2000 ROCKED! We would play that every week through the 80's. It inspired me to get the M1A instead of an AR as my first rifle. I prefered the range and damage. The game also made me love the LAV-25, my favorite game vehicle. Even to this day, I know most of the towns of Poland.

I started playing in 1979 in 7th grade. Played a lot in HS and college. Mostly always the DM. Eventually tried numerous systems and finally designed and wrote my own rules drawing from the best of all systems. When I first met my future wife I was working on a game I was running - she walked up and introduced herself to me (I had left a note on her car) and I almost freaked out because I didn't want her to think me a nerd for gaming - imagine my surprise when her eyes got big and she said, "You game?!" - love at first sight :) Haven't played in a year or so due to way too much work, school, and burnout. Gets tough to play when it is only you and one other (my wife) - too much work.

AD&D Gamma World CarWars Call of Cthulu Champions Etc. I was a supreme geek, I had many notebooks and all the AD&D books, even the original Deities and Demigods. Test for extreme dorkdom, what was the difference between the original and second editions of Deities...? answer below second edition left out Cthulu mythos, I think it was over some sort of copyright thing.

Man, I thought all you guys would be in HELL by now! That's what my church always said about what would happen to people who played D&D. Guess not huh? haha

Used to play D&D basic back in the '70s. Gave it up in high school. Damn kids have it so sweet with computers these days. I would have killed to have played Baulder's Gate or X-wing vs. Tie Fighter or Rouge Spear when I was a kid.

Played a bit in Jr. High but then "graduated" to Traveller and, to a lesser extent, Twilight:2000. We quit playing when we started binge drinking. Sort of duplicative. We continued playing Avalon Hill & GDW war games until everybody went to college. I still have a map of the Spinward Marches hanging in my gun room.

I played the SHIT outta AD&D back in the day...One of the other guys in the adventuring party and I played our characters as brothers. DWARVES from the IRON MOUNTAINS...only known survivors of a clan that was wiped out by ORCS when we were children. He was a theif, and I was a warrior. About two years ago my original party tried to start back up....but it fizzled out after a short while. The latest addition of D&D kind of sucks I think, It became a little more "kiddie friendly"

I've played since my Sophomore year of high school (about 12 years ago) and still continue to play. Started out on 2nd edition, but started playing 3rd edition when it came out a couple of years ago. Didn't care much for 3rd edition at first, but now I really like it. Lot more simplified than 2nd, but without being "dumbed down". Of course, at this age I can't play like I used to which is good. No more playing till 4am while drinking an entire 2-liter bottle of soda. Now, everyone quits playing at around 10pm and most people stick to drinking beer, wine, or water.

Just call me Dengar, the 9th. level Paladin. I played for three years in middle school, so I have an excuse for my nerd-like behavior... I was not interested in girls yet. That said, I wish I still had some of my AD&D books. The Monster Manual, The Fiend Folio, and Deities & Demigods would make for some interesting and imaginative browsing, even today!

I played AD&D and Gamma World until I discovered drinking in high school. I still have all my books piled up in the corner of my room. Jason

How about weird characters names?? We played with Coconut Charlie of the Tuna Juicer Posse (dwarven fighter). And Fellatio Oakenrod (elven ranger with homosexual tendencies). He tended to get us into lots of altercations in bars.
