Would rather have it in 5.56 or .300BLK instead of a fad caliber like 6.8

Now if only I had the coin to afford a LWRC

Shiny.

Still gonna build my own for my first AR and first 6.8, but still purdy.

I love my 6.8 but I think the LWRC proprietary upper/lower is the dumbest thing ever. They should have just went with an AR10 design in 6.5CM or .260R.

I wonder what makes the uppers and lower "proprieties" so special

I think there is room for an intermediate sized receiver set and mags, Ithey should have gone slightly larger and made the receivers available to be built.

It's a touch longer so 6.8 shooters can seat their bullets a bit longer. Great idea *IF* it didn't require throwing away compatibility with every other AR15 in the world.

IF.

The dimensions are not compatible with existing AR15 receivers, in order to account for the 6.8 SPC II's larger diameter cartridges and a polymer magazine.

The thickness of polymer magazine side walls combined with a larger case won't fit into a regular AR15 receiver, and the strength of the barrel extension is really being pushed with the pressures, so it's better to have a larger diameter barrel extension and bolt when 58,000 psi with a .421 case head is used.

It will, admittedly, be interesting to see if someone takes this length and builds a 5.56 and mags for long-loading the 80+ grain 5.56 match bullets that are out there. Or maybe a slightly larger .224" case design. Or both.

The receivers weren't really built with additional COL in mind, but case diameter + polymer mags.

It is a touch longer in order to use Pmags......special ones.  It has full ambi controls and the ejection port has been lengthened.

Their 6.8 has been adopted by some Arab forces.

i dont get the obsession with having a hogs head on things.. , but then again, im sure there are other people who love it.. preference is always the main seller on these kinds of rifles i guess.

I'm guessing they won't sell many in this color. That target audience would much prefer a Stag with over the top intricate gold plating...Which can be done cheaper.

Hate the color but love the rifle.

6.8 I fuckin love it :)  favorite hunting round and I don't have to go on a gigantic ballistics explanation to educate people when you bring a 5.56 so they don't call you inhumane.

ETA:  And why the fuck a 1:10 twist?  It doesn't have the ass to shoot 140 or 150gr bullets, why bother with 1:10?
1:11 will stabilize a 130gr spitzer, and would have been so much better.

Structurally, the only difference between that and my Six8 SPR is the stock, and mine cost way less.  I can't think of a reason for it to be priced like that, unless that's with a BIG dealer markup.

Ah, that makes more sense.  The OP's dealer really wants his cash for the "special ordering" he'd have to do.

They did, however, stretch it as much as they could without needing to have a longer BCG.

Yeah, after I got my Six8 SPR, I dearly want the UCIW, and a 10.5 upper to go with it, as well.

$3000k and all you get is a 1-10 twist barrel and the antiquated old chamber design?
It is purty I guess?
