SORRY ABOT THE PICTURE I DOWNLOADED ONE TO SHOW YOU WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. THE RIFLE IS VERY SIMILAR TO THE PICTURE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE ONE YOU WILL BE BIDDING ON HAS A TELESCOPING STOCK. COMMANDO STYLE. |

Hmmm Sell pre ban AR or get new GF.......?
Yep get new GF! No brainer. |
I put the bid on it...... minimum bid, i really can't afford anymore toy's. just did it for fun...
You put a $1,200 bid on a rifle that the seller cannot describe with any amount of detail or condition, yet claims is preban, and who offers a picture of a postban to give you an idea of what you're bidding on but adding mention of the stock and "commando style"?
Wow, you take your fun seriously. At $1,200, this guy might just have sold you a beat up postban Oly. Unless you emailed the guy, you don't know the bbl length, whether it's an aftermarket upper on a Colt lower, etc. And unless you see the SN on the lower, I wouldn't assume that it is what the seller claims. Good luck. Who knows. You may have fallen into a really nice rifle. Let us know what happens. |
Ebay's going to stop this auction before it ends and that will make all bids null and void. You could bid $10,000 if you wanted and you wouldn't be obligated to pay.
We should get three of four guys from the site upbid that rifle to like 6 or 7k, before ebay cancels it. Watch the guy it all excited and stuff...lol

What happens when you really up the bid to an outrageous price and Ebay doesn't cancel the Auction.

Shit, I can't let this one slip.
I'm bidding.. Heh, i'm current high bidder! LMAO |

Holy shit!
I just looked through eBay's banned items and firearms aren't on there anymore! In fact, it clearly states that all firearms sold in auctions must be shipped to Federally Licensed Firearms dealers! Those bids might be valid afterall! November 29th, fools..... |

Firearms, Ammunition, Replicas, and Militaria What is not permitted? Firearms: Firearms cannot be listed on eBay's core or storefront sites. Firearms include all "pre-ban," sporting, collectible, curio & relic (C&R), and antique firearms, regardless of their capability to fire a shot. Any item that is designed to propel a metal (or similar) projectile is covered by this ban, regardless of that item's present ability to fire. Related items: Other firearms related items that are not permitted on eBay include BB guns, air guns, silencers, converters (any item which can convert a firearm to have automatic capability), kits (any kit that can be used to create a firearm), flares, flare launchers, flare guns, and the receivers for flare guns. Illegal components, such as silencers, converters (to convert a firearm to have automatic capability), and short barrels are prohibited. Ammunition: High capacity magazines (magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds) and ammunition with propellant (such as gunpowder) cannot be listed. Blank ammunition is not allowed under our fireworks policy. Sellers must state the actual capacity of ammunition magazines they list on the site. Ordnance: Generally, ordnance (military weaponry, ammunition and related parts) is not permitted, even if the user states that the item is "unserviceable" or has been "demilitarized" or "demilled," as eBay cannot confirm that the item has effectively and permanently altered for lawful and safe transport and sale. However, unserviceable military type weapons may be listed if the listing contains a clear scan of official documentation from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms ("ATF") stating that the item is unserviceable or demilitarized - contact your local ATF office for more details on obtaining such documentation. Or go to their web site for general information about firearms laws: http://www.atf.treas.gov/firearms/index.htm Grenades: Grenades, including metal military practice grenades, rifle grenades, dummy grenades, grenade launcher attachments, and mines, may not be listed on eBay. However, such items will be permitted if they are a relic, curio, memorabilia, or display item, that is filled with a permanent inert substance or that is otherwise permanently altered in a manner that prevents ready modification for use as a grenade. Replicas Without Proper Markings: Federal and state laws require that replica, "look alike" and imitation firearms have clear markings permanently affixed to the weapon -- the most common requirement is a blaze orange plug inserted in the barrel of the item. This law applies even to novelty items, such as cigarette lighters, that are designed to look like firearms. eBay will NOT permit the listing of any look alike weapon that does not comply with these laws. What is permitted? Some items that relate to firearms can be listed on eBay. Permitted items should be listed in the appropriate category such as Collectibles: Militaria; Collectibles: Western Americana; or Miscellaneous: Sporting Goods: Hunting. These items include: Legal firearm components - Most legal firearm components may be listed. Further, firearms related accessories, such as holsters, scopes, and ammunition without propellant may be listed. If eBay cannot determine whether or not the ammunition listed has a propellant, that listing will not be permitted. Blank guns, replica or imitation guns, paintball guns and "airsoft" guns may be listed provided that: The item does not, and cannot be readily altered, to shoot a projectile (except for paintball guns or "airsoft" guns.) The receiver is not a firearm as classified by law. See U.S. Code Title 18, Section 921 The replica or imitation gun has the legal markings required by law AND Blank ammunition is not included in the sale. See U.S. Code Title 15, Section 5001 View Quote Good job screwing with us! [:D] |

I'm in the middle of a bunch of jokesters. Remind me never to get on ya'lls bad side. [BD] [blue]NAKED[/blue] |

The seller is probably spooging his pants right now thinking of all the things he's going to buy with the money.
You just KNOW the one shady preban dealer at the gun show is watching that auction and gettin' a chubby. |
I bid 99,999,999.00. They would not let me bid any higher than that, however anything under that should be fine.
heh, looks like I won the auction :-) |
$96,000,100.00 is the current price with 2 days left. Thats 96 million dollars! LMAO.
ROTFLMMFAO!!!
I'm trying to bid but it won't accept any amount that I bid, even the posted minimum bid amount. (does that even make sense?) [BD] ColtShorty© "I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people and I require the same from them." |

You guys are a riot! Stop, you're killing me.
This will probably make the national news tomorrow. |
I wonder if they've ever had anything bid up this high before... Red lights and sirens must be going off somewhere at Ebay...
LOL this is so funny! I wonder what this Id10t is thinkin? SO Funny!

Jeebus H. Christ on a popsicle stick!
You guys are NUTZO! Oh, crap, I feel sorry for the schmuck who's running this auction if it closes, because ebay's going to charge him a fee of...well, I'm afraid to try to figure out how much that'll be, but he's heading for the poorhouse! My guess is that ebay won't cancel this auction now, because the crap that's going to happen when it closes out will be far worse than any puhishment ebay could hand out to the seller, or the buyer. Sort of a 'You peed in your bed and now you have to sleep in it' thing... Man, that's almost as funny as the booger story thread. CJ |
ComputerGuy, how much are ya gonna turn and sell it for? [:D]
i have been watching this rifle from the time it was listed. couldnt figure out why they hadnt cancelled it. now i know! they want to collect the final value fee from this guy!!! it is at a MILLION DOLLARS right now!!! and to beat it all he only accepts paypal. they will freeze his account when they find out what is going on!!! UNBELEIVEABLE!!! THIS IS ONE FOR THE STORY BOOKS!!!!

ebay's going to charge him a fee of...well, I'm afraid to try to figure out how much that'll be, but he's heading for the poorhouse! View Quote After rooting around ebay's horribly disorganized site for a while, I finally found their price list: 5.25% of the initial $25, plus 2.75% of the initial $25 - $1000, plus 1.50% of the remaining closing value balance For a $100 million dollar sale, the fees would be 25 * .0525 + 975 * 0.0275 + 99,999,000 * 0.015 = $1,500,013.13! I wonder what his credit card company is going to say when ebay's attempts to charge his card that amount?z |
You peopel do realise who is the top-bidder, right? ComputerGuy. ComputerGuy is gonna get screwed. Let me re-cap:
Cat shit blood on him Car had like eight misadventures He almost died from a pack of socks cutting him eBay is gonna expect him to pay..... Scott |
This is too funny. LMAO But the guy can't be stupid enough to think he's going to get the money. All he has to do is cancel the auction, and he owes eBay nothing, except maybe an insertion fee because it's a reserve auction.
It appears that the Item has already been reported to Ebay's safe harbor team... I had a pang of guilt for Computerguy and tried to report it myself... it may take 36 hours to investigate it......
On a second note, I am originally from that area in N.Y and I may go back and meet him for an inspection of the rifle. His reserve was $1400, that's not bad for a preban colt is it? What about his S/N listed, ST035590?? |
yea i am the high bidder, heh!
i know the actuion will get canceled because it's already void ( breaking ebay's policy.. heheh ) i bid the maximum amount ebay will allow.. if they dont cancel it by tomorrow i'll email them myself... |
I just emailed this to the seller:
Just so you know, your auction on ebay is against the rules set by ebay, so therefore the auction is void. No firearms are allowed. Some buddies and I just bid it way the fuck up there for fun :-) Try gunbroker.com or the equipment exchange in AR15.com Thanks, sorry if you crapped your pants or anythign..heh, i know i would!
