No Sir.  I'd say you are just an All-American Man who is secure with who he is, and understands the blessings of this great country because of his personal sacrifice to keep it that way, but is humble enough not to boast about it.

Thanks Ed!  You make me proud to be an American!

Gee Ed, first you get all smootchie with BOG, now you start crying when kids sing songs.

You really getting in touch with your feminine side ain't ya?!

[:D]

j/k... I get choked up when I hear the National Anthem or sometimes when I just see the flag waving on a tall flagpole.

It means you understand what it means to be an American and you honor those who gave every drop of blood and sweat to keep this country free.

Nothing to be ashamed of. Nothing at all.

We are hereby revoking your "I'm a big tuff guy with guns who eats puppies for breakfast and shoots kittens for target practice" license.

Freedom is never free and real americans like yourself know the price we pay for what most take for granted or complain about.  I wish we had more like you and more schools like the one you mentioned.

Didn't garandman get tossed for calling you a wuss?  I thought that was forbidden.  Or is this yet another exception to the rules for senior staff?  [;)]

I've never been able to sing the whole Star Spangled Banner for the same reason, and I actually know all four verses!

I only wish the politicians at home had as much courage as the soldiers over there.  While the men in uniform are ready to die in Iraq, we still do not have the political will to control our own borders.

If that's the case, then I seem to remember a whole BUNCH of wuss'es gathered around the "Hero Awards" presentation at the BRC. I don't recall seeing a dry eye in the place....

I agree.  Go kill something man!  Scare a kitten or something!  Snap out of it.

Next thing you know you will be watching Christopher Lowell and saying "You know, we DO need some new window treatements!"

Run, quick!  Deep into the woods!

It's a pretty honorable thing that you feel that way about it.
People who are callous to such things are hollow, and have no souls. It doesn't make them tough, or a non-wuss. It just easier to kill them without feeling guilty about it.

You aren't, and that's a good thing.

I do the same thing every time I say the Pledge of Allegiance or hear the National Anthem. I think it's normal. Too bad there are too few of us. The world could stand a more people with feelings.
A toast this Thanksgiving, "to those who are with us and those who have passed on". CHEERS!!

It comes when you finally realize the magnitude of the sacrifices of those who have put everything on the line so that we can have all that we do. It finally hit me while stationed in Korea. Can't say exactly why, but standing at retreat while the national anthems of both countries played, made me feel very humble. Maybe knowing that I was in a country where men of my dad's generation fought and died for the cause of freedom brought those feelings on. All I can say is that I can not listen to, or sing all the way through, the National Anthem, America The Beautiful, etc and have dry eyes at the end. If we are "wuss's", at least we are in good company.
