It depends upon the temperature, around 30 is best.  I used to take my dag to the golf course nearby and throw a nylon Frisbee down a hill for 60 to 90 minutes.

Lol at wearing out a young lab.  Myparents run their lab on a treadmill at a fast clip for one hour per day.  That dogs LOVES the treadmill and refuses to get off.

For a black lab, the machine will break before the dog is tired.

Could you hook a plow or tiller to him and get some useful work done?

It works with my teenage boys.  That is the only useful kind of work that I can get them to do.  Lol

I have a young high energy GSD, his ball drive is through the roof. I use two of the 6" hard balls with a two foot rope on each one, throw one about 50 yards and watch him race to bring it back then throw the other one. Rinse and repeat for about an hour, three times a day wears him down some, other days it just takes the edge off.

I bought this one for my mom's Black Lab, and she loves it Megan (the dog) loves to play fetch, but Mom is now too sick and frail to play with her.

I've been extremely happy with the quality of the unit-it has held up perfectly with continuous use. If you have a smaller yard, you can adjust the distance the ball flies. If I remember correctly it is adjustable from 20 to 40 feet. Megan will play with her ball thrower all day if she's allowed to

I would strongly suggest the A/C adapter.

Have seen those automatic tennis ball shooters, go buy one. and 87 cases of tennis balls.

Then take the lab down to the water and shoot the balls way the fuck out into the water, from about 50-100 on shore, sit back and drink beer. After 8 hours or so your thumbs will have a blisters and your lab maybe slightly tired.
