I used to be able to visit this site during lunch. But today I was blocked and the reason that popped up on my screen was that it was listed as a "Mature Site". What the hell is that? I told my boss about it. He told me that they pay a company to block web sites for them. You know the usual porno/bomb building etc. But why this? I always visited AR15.com every lunch hour. I don't blame my boss at all, but who dictates what is mature and not suitable for my eyes? I can still visit the other sites for AK-47's and FAL.com I think that all this crap started after the DC sniper stuff. Who runs these blocking services anyway?

Your best bet is to enter the IP for AR15.com into your web browsers address bar. This gets around most of those block agents. 66.202.29.77

LOL there is so many ways around that crap!

But, I'll bet if it was a racial site, or one with appropriate (gay) porn, you would have organizations and agencies swarming to protect your First Amendment rights.

If you can get around that crap by entering the IP or an alias URL you've got some lame ass netnany running. Worth a try though. There are ways to get around it depending on the holes your network admin has left open.

Just out of curiosity, see is you can get to democraticunderground.com. If you can, that means it is not a mature site, and thus by deduction, an immature site. [rolleyes]

Websense is only an ISAPI .dll It can be defeated. [:D]

Try using www.anonimizer.com or something similiar. This will work if they have not blocked this type of site as well. Data is encrypted between your browser and the anonimizer.com site. Anonimizer.com acts as proxy so that you can browse the web anonymously and securely.

The are using Websence here at my work place. I am the admin for my location and our web access comes from corperate. Annonimiser is one of the location that is blocked. But if you use https://www.megaproxy.com Note the https! this port seems to bypasses the filtering. This is just one of the many ways!

This is so great! I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Fortunately, my office doesn't monitor closely, but it will probably be coming.
