Straight from granholms website. "Vigorously enforce existing laws that prohibit felons from carrying firearms, encourage commonsense gun safety measures, and respect the rights of hunters and sportsmen. Hunting and sport-shooting are part of the way of life for many Michiganians. Jennifer Granholm respects the rights of hunters, sportsmen, and law-abiding adults to purchase and own guns. But with those rights come responsibilities. For gun owners, it's to keep their weapons safe and out-of-reach of minors and others who shouldn't have access to them. For all of us, it's our responsibility to keep guns out of the hands of children, criminals, and the mentally ill. A Granholm-Cherry Administration will work with hunters and sportsmen, community leaders, and law enforcement to devise strategies that keep our streets safe without infringing on the rights of law-abiding adults." Who here believes this? edited for poor typing skills.

Durring the ccw debates she stated that she would have vetoed the ccw bill. taken from www.mcrgo.org www.gongwer.com MICHIGAN REPORT Information Pertinent to Legislative and State Department Activities Since 1906 REPORT NO. 214, VOLUME 40 MONDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2001 EAST LANSING. Locking horns for the first time Monday in a debate to be televised, the five Democratic candidates for governor in 2002 tussled gently in most cases on a range of issues from problems at Detroit Metro Airport to firearms. A few issues the airport, the environment and experience elicited the liveliest discussion. The hour-long debate, held on the Michigan State University campus, will be broadcast this weekend on Michigan Public Television affiliates across the state. Former Governor James Blanchard, U.S. Rep. David Bonior, Attorney General Jennifer Granholm, state Sen. Gary Peters and state Sen. Alma Wheeler Smith are seeking the Democratic nomination, which will be decided in a primary in August. The candidates did agree on several issues: all said they would have vetoed the concealed gun bill that was enacted this year… .

I voted for Posthumus, too. Can't stand Granwhore. She seems to narcissistic to me...

I can't believe she won. It has to the worst day for Michigan in a long time. She is anti gun all the way. How can she take an oath to uphold mich law and mich constitution. She refused to do so as attorney general. She is anti business. While campaigning in my hometown she was on the picket line with union picketers. A good way to entice new business to come to the state. Bobwrench

So even if he wins, because he conceded, he won't be in office? What a bitch... I would have stuck in until it was over and done.

This shouldn't be a surprise... How many times did you hear Posthumous' name in the last 8 years ?? Granholm spent most of her time as Attorney General making sure her name was in the news. Abercrombie and Fitch catalog, price gouging on gas, anything that would make headlines, she was there. Republicans dropped the ball on this, IMHO. Para-phrasing her acceptance speech: "I am honored and humbled to be (shouting) THE NEXT GOVERNOR OF MICHIGAN" (how humble is that?)
